I am not a Fields fan but something tells me it’s smoke and mirrors went it comes to the pats liking fields.

Basing assumptions on rumors isn't really a smart way of forming judgement. We have no idea why the 49's traded up when they did and who they want. Howe has no more knowledge of the situation then we do. He is just getting those clicks.

I said if. I am not taking it on face value. But if it is true, Lynch should be fired.

If the 49ers traded up over a month before the draft and miscalculated in thinking that the Jets were going to draft Fields and they would grab Wilson, John Lynch should be fired. That would mean they mortgaged the future to draft a player that will be off the board before they can draft. That is a monumental blunder.

I said if. I am not taking it on face value. But if it is true, Lynch should be fired.

If Lynch gets fired, Shanahan also gets fired because he’s really the one who calls the shots. Lynch is only GM by title and Shanahan actually hired him.

Whoever they chose, it better work or they will both be gone within 2 years. They’ve had a slew of terrible decisions ignored because of their Cinderella 2019 season and they are so friendly with the media.

A lot of people on this board are advocating to trade up to basically get any of the top 5 QB because it is more likely to get a good to great QB in the first round than later rounds. Odds are incredible that at least one or two the guys drafted in the first round this year will be busts.

Cant be scared and refuse to take chances. Odds are that some of those top five prospects are going to become great QBs. Our chance of landing a great QB in later rounds drops significantly.

We don’t have the luxury of being conservative if we want to truly compete. We need a top flight QB. One of the top five QBs in the draft is our best chance at it,

I want Fields. He’s gonna be a star, especially if Nike gets his paws on him. But I’d also be fine with Lance, Mac, Mills, Mond or even Trask at good value/JG on an incentive laden deal....or Rodgers

I love Mac. He’s a winner, he’s deadly accurate, has a quick release. He’s extremely smart, humble, has a good arm, and he definitely has a chip on his shoulder to prove people wrong. EVERYBODY doubts the guy. Everybody says it’s a joke if the 49ers pick him at 3. For Christ’s sake, the two playoff games, against 2 of the best 4 teams in the country, he threw 9 TD passes, 0 INTs, 761 yards, and a completion percentage of 81%.

For those who say, but look at who he was throwing to. I don’t give a **** if he was throwing to Randy Moss AND Jerry Rice, he still has to make the throws.

Burrows was throwing to all-world WRs last year, and it didn't hurt his draft stock, but it's somehow disqualifying for Jones?

The anti-Jones stuff is almost exclusively an anti-running QB thing. How people are hiding it is the only real variable. I don't care who people like or don't, but I wish they would stop with all the ******** excuses.

If they love one of the QBs specifically, I am not against trading up. I am against trading up for just any one of the top 5 left. That is just stupid.

I'm hoping the 49ers take Jones just so I can see their forum explode. Most of that fan base does NOT want him.

The Shanahan's know offense and Kirk Cousins, Matt Ryan, etc. Mac Jones would be a star in SF. Don't overthink it. It's funny to see self proclaimed draftniks here say Mac is Kirk Cousins, in a disparaging way.

Didn't think of that, but even still I would think he would rather play for Belichick as a TE than end his career.
