It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I don’t think any team would take Gilmore instead of this years 2 or next years 1, so by extension we would be giving him up for peanuts. If that’s the case, and they do trade him, they should have dealt him before the trade deadline last year. Might have resulted in a couple of more losses while experimenting with Jackson in the CB1 role, and improved draft position in each round. But whatever. I’d rather not part with Gilmore but if it can help get us our QB, then I’m fine with it.
In fairness this doesn’t say Gilmore is part of the discussion just speculates.Giving up Gilmore and the 15 pick would leave a glaring hole at the corner position. Jackson isn’t a true 1.
Imagine we trade and Miami trades down yet again with Denver so Denver gets the QB and Miami still gets the guy the targeted.
Would be insane but it scares me.
Gilmore is cheap this year, and as long as healthy, still a very very good defensive player, but signed only for 1 year.I don’t think any team would take Gilmore instead of this years 2 or next years 1, so by extension we would be giving him up for peanuts.
Right so I think he has more value to keep than to trade.Gilmore is cheap this year, and as long as healthy, still a very very good defensive player, but signed only for 1 year.
Detroit is the wild card. They could cut Goff tomorrow at no cost.Process of elimination.
49ers - Mac Jones or Trey Lance
Falcons- Matt Ryan so they don’t need a QB
Bengals- Joe Burrow
Dolphins- Tua which takes them out of needing to take a QB
Lions Goff so that leaves the only teams that might interested in getting fields down to the panthers, Patriots or Denver. It makes sense why the Patriots are talking to the panthers about acquiring their pick
Maybe this year’s 2. A good amount of teams can use a lockdown corner and have the cap room to fit him in. Next year’s 1? Nope. And this year’s 2 would not help us move into the top 10 (7 being the most likely landing spot for a trade up) by itself.I don’t think any team would take Gilmore instead of this years 2 or next years 1, so by extension we would be giving him up for peanuts.
Who?
