This offense is all abt timing, seeing what Brady is thinking & then rr. R/r is very important but it all starts before the ball is snapped & adjusting post snap if coverages are being disguised.

Lets try this again this year and maybe this time you don't take it as a personal attack.

Can you actually help people that want to understand your insight out and write out words instead of using completely opaque abbreviations like "rr" "r/R" ?

It takes you a couple more seconds and you save dozens of posters who read it much more time. You write things I want to be able to understand but instead I sit regularly here and try to figure out what some of your abbrevations could possibly mean.

Honestly, I though Brady missed Dorsett but from this analysis, it looks like it was a mistake by Dorsett.

One thing I am noticing from these games is the lack of detail by the offense. Poor route running and such. I wonder how much of this is coming from youth or from lack of accountability from the coaches.

@The Brandon Five makes a great point, he pointed out that Chad O'Shea was not only our RZ specialist but also our WR coach. Ever since he left, we have suffered plenty in both departments.

I think that part of the "Brady building trust" thing includes what he sees on film.

Meyers is becoming more and more intriguing to me. The guy seems to have the "it" factor.

He can also be frustrating to watch- very up and down player. Dropped a very crucial pass vs. Baltimore because he was afraid to get hit. Still has a lot of bad habits from when he was able to just get by on talent in college.

Houston has pretty much exposed the majority of our weaknesses which makes me grateful that we're playing Reid's KC next because Reid is not a good enough coach, or humble enough to steal from others. He is too much in love with his own playbook.

Don't agree with that at all. I think you will see a very similar game plan on offense by the chiefs and on D, they will play the Pats the exact same way they played the Broncos. Sounds crazy, but it should work.

Honestly, I hope they will.

It is the regular season and losses suck but are not a back breaker right now. I'd rather this team keeps hammering their head against a level of adversity that highlights their own shortcomings than glide through the rest of the season because the other teams are to stupid to attack them appropriately.

The only way this will get better is if they get more reps in hard situations. I am sure they are getting hell in practice as well but live game snaps are just another animal.

He just cuts inside a beat too early and then almost sits down. If he had taken one more step upfield his break would have been better timed with when Brady released. The timing on this is just all screwed up.
Sorry this doesn't make sense. Another step upfield would have messed up the timing worse since this is essentially a 3 step route.

Watch the clip. Release, which isn't bad ... Right, left, right (plant)

3rd step is his plant which he's supposed to explode off to create contact. Poor plant & awful job using his body.

I agree. Forcing the Pats to beat you through the air to someone other than JE should be the plan for everyone facing the Pats. This will be good for the Pats to face this challenge and either rise to overcome it or fail.

We will see, but Reid is Reid. He has not evolved one bit over the last ten years. Why would he start now?

Good point about it being a 3 step route.

You don't think he should be cutting inside more or less about the same time the ball is released ?

I assumed that the ball is supposed to be in the air the moment the WR has turned to minimize the window where a DB can make a play.

Even w Brady holding coverage/peaking at Edleman he couldn't hold the ball any longer. Harry just ran a sloppy route.

It looked like he tried pushing off as well & whiffed. He has to lean into his man on that plant, explode off to create natural separation with his size/length.

If you look at the clip, it looks like he looks right first, didn't like what he sees right away, then goes left, takes a second to see the matchup, then throws.
Yep...He first looks to Edelman's (Brady's right) side...whether that was his first read or merely a look-off is unclear...What is clear is that beginning his scan from right to left means that for one moment, however brief, his gaze crossed paths with Meyers...perhaps if Meyers had raised his hand while looking back at the QB similar to the way Edelman (& Moss before him) have caught Brady's attention...

Film Review: Breaking Down all the Issues with the Patriots Passing Game | CLNS Media

Reading this is a good eyeopener for the story that no one was open. If brady starts to see these better, this offense will improve quickly and I believe he can .

He makes an excellent point. I was one of those who kept waiting for Brady to throw a jump ball to Harry. Never happened.

There are certainly qualms with everyone, including offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who is misusing first-round pick N’Keal Harry and struggling to get his players on the same page.

Harry’s route running issues, which include an inability to separate on horizontal breaks, was apparent in college. So why use him on timing and precision routes? Fades, back shoulders, screens, and crossing patterns into space should make up his route tree, giving him chances to use his jump-ball and run after the catch skills.

Harry had already lost one fight for the ball, on a throw where he had all the advantages. Why would anyone expect Brady to throw him a 50/50 ball after that?
