Gunner to IR (to make room for Wynn)

Just checked and Chad Jackson is still only 34....... just saying...... he knows the playbook.....
Think Laurence Maroney could come with? (ow. I am actually not that down on Michel, and certainly not White/Burkhead)

Why wouldn't we want gunner in camp? He's signed and cost nothing to keep during camp and the preseason.
I want him back but it's a numbers game... You have Harry Edelman Myers Dorsett and Sanu... Statuses if their contracts?

I love gunners attitude And effort... He will be in camp but can he break through? Hope he makes jump over the off season as a we.

Dorsett is a FA after this year

I'd say hes more of a WR2/3 now and the reason why he is here is he can return punts AND be a top target.

I think we have a difference of opinion of how valuable and good DT really is. I think he is very, very average.

Is it your goal to become a smart ass during this discussion?

Either way, you are wrong. Mistakes were not made. I don't think you understand the concept of layering the roster with players that can do multiple things and maximizing their overall value to the team.

Please explain who returns punts when BB clearly does not want to use JE.
Maybe DT is average, but he would be the 3rd most productive receiver right now, even while playing with Darnold. It's a mute point. It is what it is, but the receiving numbers are pathetic. And yes, mistakes have clearly been made with the WR position, even with the TEs. It's ok, everyone makes mistakes, even the GOAT BB.

The thing is, this team would have been set up with crazy depth. And Thomas is obviously still more than capable of being a WR3-WR4 in this league.

Edelman
Brown
Gordon
Dorsett
Thomas
Rookies (Meyers/Harry)

And, even if you were to still ditch the other two, this team could still be

Edelman
Sanu
Dorsett
Thomas
Rookies (Meyers/Harry)

which would be an obvious upgrade over what's there right now.

So anyone dismissing his absence is just not paying attention to what's happened with this team's WRs.

You can't say DT is being screwed in NY because he doesn't have any TD catches but then say hes producing b/c he'd be 3rd in yards here. What it means is DT is playing. That doesn't mean he'd be playing here or at a respectable level.

...and you still haven't answered the PR question.

Be curious what they do with him

I like him a lot but I think he will be gone.

There will be (hopefully) much more continuity next year on offense than this year so his biggest advantage (experience and knowledge of system) wont be as big of an edge anymore.

Obviously it all depends on what Dorsett is looking for in FA. If he is fine making Dola money (back when he still was here) all bets are off. But he better get some guarantees into that deal to not be cut after camp.

d%#*!@t. This means Sanu, Edelman, etc. will be exposed returning punts.
Yeah, Sanu nearly got a broken ankle against Philly returning punts. I was surprised he even finished the game with the way he was bent back. Too bad Bolden is so good at blocking punts, or they'd probably have put him back there. Chung can also do it, but he's had his own injury problems this season.

I know somebody available

Unfortunate for Gunner, but with him not returning punts there was no real need to have him on the roster anymore. I do think he showed enough to be worth hanging onto and seeing what he can do next year though, he made good on the opportunity he was given.

Did he ever return punts? I know he was a KR, but I can't recall ever seeing him return punts. It is a slightly different skill.

Sure I can.

DT played only 8 games. Two of the games were with Falk where no TDs were scored. The other six games had 10 TDs by Darnold.

DT plays for the #31 passing ypg team and has the #2 receiving yards on his team, having played 2 fewer games and would have the #3 yards on the Patriots, which is the #8 passing ypg team. Not sure why he hasn't been targeted in the EZ, but the fact remains that he is producing very well for a poor passing team and would clearly help out a good passing team as he is more than capable having scored over 60 TDs, and is a large target at 6'3" with good hands (higher completion % than Dorsett).

I get your trying to justify BBs decision, but there is no doubt he could've helped Brady. As to the PR, I guess Jules.

If you have no faith then best to cut your loss now rather than when you really need him. This team would have been better off without ever sniffing AB...

I don't think that's even close to the truth.
A lot closer than you think...We have a $5M hole in our salary cap because of him (because of Bill actually, but the point stands).

BB didn't want JE to PR. That is the problem.

You are arguing DT was ahead of Dorsett. He wasn't.

No, you were arguing Berrios was ahead of Dorsett. :p

Just jking dude. Whatever, DT isn't here so it doesn't really matter. Looking at the file I uploaded above, its pretty incredible that Brady has passed to 17 different guys in 10 games so far. No wonder he's pissed.

Nah don't think so. I don't know if he could even get his legs moving to get any yards fielding punts lol.

No, it's not. The problem isn't the signing. The problem is the cutting.
