Ballentine played 69% of thr ST reps, primarily at gunner opposite Schooler. He has had lots of experience at gunner, and is a #5 or #6 CB for us.

Ballentine was elevated for the game. I guess we'll see if he is elevated again or perhaps if he is activated to the 53.

As a side note, Gibbens (82%) and Mapu (69%) played lots and lots of ST's. Notably, Mapu is our protector on punt returns.

I think we can safely conclude that he’s using Ballentine in that role. What’s an open question is if he “found his second gunner” — that is, did he actually do well in that role last week?

No idea about ST but he wasn’t bad starting 6 games in 2023 with 7 PD’s, an INT and some tackles. Don’t know what the QB success rate was throwing to the guys he covered.
