Jerry Jones wants Roger Goodell gone - here's who he wants instead [Pro Football Weekly]

Reports are that Jerry Jones wants to replace Roger with Bill Polian. Even considering how much pull Jerry has, I can't see this happening. But it really speaks to how divorced from reality this guy has become. Dementia setting in? The clown doesn't look so bad now, comparatively speaking, does he? I guess we should be careful what we wish for.

I have to give Jerry credit. Never in my wildest imaginations would I have concocted a scenario as outrageous and nightmarish as this. Then again, I'm not insane. At least I don't think I am. I wouldn't really know if I were, would I? That's the nature of the affliction.

Not that I'm making excuses for Kraft, but maybe part of his thinking in laying down for Goodell, then and now is that it is better to have the devil you know in power than the unknown. I'm sure most of the owners would love nothing more than to install a commissioner that hates the Patriots as much as they do. Especially with the Pats window seemingly shrinking with Jimmy traded and Brady turning 75 this year.

If Goodell goes, Po-lyin' could have that job if he wants it. The owners' obsession with bringing down the Patriots would override any reservations about Po-lyin' and his ability to do the job. History has proven these guys (the owners) are ethically bankrupt.

Screw Jerry, he was happy with Goodell when it was everyone else getting punished when it was his turn he wants him fired.

That was my reaction initially as well. But if nobody stands up to him he is going to continue getting away with it. I'm no fan of Elliot as a person, but he is clearly innocent and his accuser should be in jail. Every NFL fan should have an issue with Roger's outrageous misconduct regardless of how they feel about his target du jor. Because you could be next. There is absolutely nothing stopping him from targeting us again. With all the health issues on the DLine how huge would the draft picks he stole from us be right now? The last one would most certainly be a productive starter for us right now.

My god, Polian is the only man in America that would be worse Commissioner for the Patriots than Goodell!

I wouldn’t be surprised if Polian’s first act as Commissioner would be to take away the Pats first round pick, just for the f of it...

the loud sound you will hear, if Polian is named commissioner , is millions of TV remotes clicking to any other channel BUT the ones with NFL content...in the NE region. Why watch a dog and pony show like that when you already have WWE access on demand.

More than Goodell, Polian is the one man the has ruined the NFL as we know it.
Yep. The rules changes to neuter the defense and help the offensive side of the ball came directly from Polian. I don’t know if he’d be worse than Goodell (Goodell is arguably the worst commissioner in American professional sports history), but I’m not sure he would be much better.

Better idea . . . how about Commissioner Ray Lewis? :D

I did not think there was a scenario where I wanted Goodell to stay. Guess I was wrong.

Yeah, replacing a guy who has no problem screwing over the Patriots while favoring other teams with a guy who really, really hates the Patriots wouldn’t be a good development. The only positive I can see is that the Jets and Giants would lose their punishment immunity. Unfortunately, the Colts would enjoy it instead.

He's a month shy of 75 y/o. How much innovation to the program do you think he has in himself?

Couldn't have put it better myself

I know there's a lot of hate for Ray Lewis.. ( I don't condone what he's done in the past.. haven't got a huge judgement on that)

I think he's along the lines of Brady.. if he's on your team you love him if he's not you hate him.

One thing about Ray Lewis, he does respect Brady if you listen to him talk about him.
The one thing about Ray Lewis is that he killed someone and got off with a slap on the wrist...

He's more than "football bad", he's a genuinely unlikeable weirdo.

This would be more than ridiculous.

Polian???? I would rather have Grigson.

as someone above said, and I echo, THAT would make the NFL unwatchable.

Polian? Why not Mark Brunell, or Ladian Tomlinson, or Chris Carter, or Mike Francesa.
