Early FA binky's

1. CCampbell - a perfect Chris Long replacement, despite being an entirely different type player. Lots of positional flexibility between DE and DT

2. Jack Doyle - IF Bennett leaves, he's the guy I'd pay $5-7MM for to replace him. Here is a link to a Indy Star article about him, and see for yourself why he'd make a great Patriot

Insider: Is Jack Doyle worth $7 million a year?

3. Jabaal Sheard - I think his play, while choppy last season, was good enough to deserve another shot. It wasn't his best year, but that is what makes it possible to resign him. OTOH, he might feel like Long did, that the Pats system doesn't just let him simply go after the passer.
I was always under the impression that it would come down to money with Sheard and, even after last season, I think he's easily going to be priced out of NE. I don't think the team feels too strongly about wanting to retain his services.

Just a note that last “report“ says Campbell could be looking for 14M/y . and since JAX are involved it might be closer to the truth than it seems.

And while I like the prospect of Doyle w Pats . he might not come much cheaper than Bennett..

Wow almost a half hour in, they don't know what they're doing, they're wasting Brady's final years if they don't surround him with more talent, Our D is going to be just a shadow of its former self after losing so and so, no way we win the Conference next year with so and so or without so and so.

Chargers cleaning house.

Chargers are at least 5 years from making the playoffs. That's if they gut the team and start over. It will probably be longer if they keep doing what they have been and pretend they are close because they have an overrated loser for a QB.

???

No idea what season you watched last year but if they don't have that crazy run of injuries and can actually hold on to leads at the end of fourth quarters they easily make the playoffs..

They were 5-11

Maybe I am misreading your message again like last time but Lombardi is most probably the most insightful and fair analyst in the entire business.
Lol just kidding about how many people become haters on comments that aren't remotely bad.

You got me again @Froob

Read what I wrote and try again.
They lost to the Browns.
Giving up leads is what losing teams do, you can't just pretend it doesn't exist.
When you are the 29th ranked defense and lead the league in turnovers, you don't tend to hold leads, win games or make the playoffs.

I get your answer, if they weren't who they are, they would be better. Unfortunately, they are who they are.

5 years? Is any team really that far away? You can rebuild an NFL team fairly quick. Not necessarily sustainable but random playoff appearances happen every year.

Had to let the dogs out, what did I miss?

If a team is good enough to be ahead in the majority of their games for 56 minutes then there is more to built upon than most other losing teams.

Yes, they were a bad team last year but they are getting a ****ton of players back and are closer to put it all together than most other losing teams.

Id say any team CAN be turned around within 3 years.
But that requires doing things the right way and making good decisions.
The Chargers have shown they are harming themselves with the way they are run.
They doubled down on a bad coaching hire by firing him and making a worse one.

You premise is wrong.

They will be lucky to win 5 this year.
