Team officials met with Scott's agent at the NFL scouting combine to discuss the linebacker's future. Agent Harold Lewis said Monday he told the Jets that Scott was "extremely frustrated" in his diminished role last season, and that it was "destroying him" not to be utilized as he was in his first two seasons.
Lewis said a potential trade was discussed, but he claimed he didn't request a trade and nor has he received permission to seek one. But that could be a matter of semantics at this point. Scott's "ultimate goal" is to stay with the Jets, according to Lewis, who added: "If we can't fix what's broken, there will be other opportunities."
Scott, 32, would go to the linebacker-needy New York Giants "in a heartbeat," Lewis said.
Now this may shock you, but the Mark Sanchez-led New York Jets also spoke with the Rams about the No. 2 overall pick, but as of now, they weren't able to devise a package large enough.
LOL! Looks like the Jets may be trying to trade up to get RG3:

It seems the Jets are desperately trying to replace Sanchez. I guess the unlimited ceiling RayRay talked about for Sanchez is being the unemployed boyfriend of Kate Upton who spends his days playing Xbox on her couch or following her around to photo shoots holding her purse.
Good stuff, Rob. I was wondering who the "surprise team that would shock everyone" was.
And in reality, all they did was prove to everyone that the price is too high for a potential trade for the #2 pick; thus solidifying yet another rumor that they don't stand by Sanchez!! Great move by the front office and PR. I'm sure they'll somehow deny it come tomorrow morning, to try and save Sanchez' feelings.
Sanchez got his offensive coordinator fired this year. Next year, it could be his GM and/or coach.
hey look!!!...the Meltdown Theater Special....

Mixed feelings here. RG3 would be a major upgrade and is a good guy. Hate to see the Jets long term have someone decent at QB. That said, it would cost them their draft and possibly a decent player, further weakening a team that needs to rebuild cheaply via draft, not FA.
The good news there, the Jets don't have enough to trade up unless they packaged something like two firsts and two seconds and/or a marquee player like Revis or Mangold. It ain't happening, but it must be doing wonders for Marky Mark's psyche to know the Jets are actively trying to replace him. They are almost making it impossible for them to go with Sanchez in 2012 even though they have claimed they are all in on Sanchez.
We think Henne could find some success in the right situation. Given a choice between him and Mark Sanchez, we’d take Henne.
Yup. They certainly have a good track record with "votes of confidence" in people, Exhibit A being Schottenheimer. They have nothing to offer for a shot at RG III unless it's two firsts (including next year's) plus maybe a second or two. They'd have to wreck themselves to do it.
Adding to the circus is news they want Braylon Edwards back:
