OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Using the Rodgers logic, Brady should have won MVP in 2016 when he had a 28-2 TD/Int ratio.
He missed 4 games there was no way he'd win it.

There are fewer and fewer records for Brady to break but he's getting close to a big one. The 100,000 passing yard mark.
He has 96 969 total for reg and playoffs.

Also, 277 wins. 2023 likely would be the year he reaches 300. Manning is second all time with…200.

Rodgers logic dictate that he should have.
When it comes to the TD:Ratio sure, but the 4 games disqualified him from winning it. That's a quarter of the season. It's a close race this year, but I do think Brady fatigue has a lot to with it. If this was Allen/Burrow/Herbert/ even Mahomes that posted these stats with the same team record they'd win it in a landslide.

That's the year that Goody & the 32 took a quarter of his season away and that took away at least 10 TDs from his total. I think they were trying to preserve some of Brees' records but, as usual, Tom prevailed.

I've never been a fan of HOFs or MVPs, mainly because it's more of a political process. The fact that anyone is being mentioned as a favorite over Brady kind of proves that point. Nobody is close to Brady and I'm not sure Rodgers is even next.

They don’t have the GOAT

the bar is lower
I'll be the first to admit that I sure miss good ol' Tom, but I don't really I care that the bar is lower. I expected worse and I got it, but making the playoffs is no small feat.

After the 20 year run they had I feel like I'm playing with house money. It'll take quite a few years of horrible play to wipe that dynastic grin off my face.

This is why Rodgers is winning MVP. This is from the Athletic it's a paywall so I could only screenshot. They have Burrow ahead of Tom lol Brady fatigue

His record is more important than both those things. If we went by coaches who can get by Brady and make SBs there would be no one on your list.
I think there's only been 1 coach who had success vs Brady and Belichick and he just got fired.

Rodgers is a gigantic favorite in Vegas to win MVP and I can’t imagine they’d be so enormously wrong about this considering they surely have people approach the 50 voters to gauge their feeling.

Ya they aren't wrong and Rodgers can have his MVP. 100% though if roles were reversed or if a Burrows or Allen had the Brady season they would win. It wouldn't be close. Both Rodgers and Burrows were great this year though so it's not like they were ****.

Rodgers is overwhelming favorite in Vegas odds
Do the oddsmakers have votes?

As we all know, Vegas isn't picking winners.

I still feel the same as this guy...

Good for Aaron. I wish him well. He seems like a good egg.

I think MVP is going to be closer than people think. I could see a co-MVP.

Unlikely, as I think that only happens in the event of a tie. Even a 26 to 24 vote means a winner and a loser.

Strange year as there are no dominant teams. There's a lot of parity between numbers 1-12.

Not much surprises though in the playoff teams and the rankings. Packers, Bucs, Chiefs at the top was predicted by many. Bills is a little lower than expected but not by much.

I would say NE did better then expected as many predicted they'd barely get in the playoff but they did so comfortably.
