Harry and Byrd didn't get a look, did they? Seems like Harry's main role is blocking, which is disappointing.

Love seeing Meyers get his playing time and his confidence. He looks like the guy who played in preseason last year...and that guy''s pretty good. Says he's learning from Edelman, and it shows, even in his throwing game.
they barely threw the ball or needed to. and meyers was wide open most of the time. no brainer to look anywhere else.

Patriots-Ravens Takeaways: How Damien Harris Has Compared To Sony Michel - NESN.com

PASS DEFENSE
The Ravens had more production through the air than the Patriots, but Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson did throw an interception while completing 24-of-34 passes for 249 yards with two touchdowns.

Coverage stats
LB Terez Hall: nine catches on nine targets, 119 yards
S Kyle Dugger: 4-5, 23 yards
CB Jonathan Jones: 3-4, 21 yards, TD
SS Adrian Phillips: 2-3, 21 yards
FS Devin McCourty: 1-2, 18 yards, TD, PBU
CB JC Jackson: 1-4, 14 yards, INT
OLB Chase Winovich: 1-1, 11 yards
CB Jason McCourty: 1-3, 10 yards, PBU
CB Myles Bryant: 1-1, 9 yards
OLB John Simon: 1-1, 3 yards
When no defender is attempting to cover the receiver, PFF generally allocates it to the nearest defender. This isn't an abnormal PFF stat line for an ILB that played a lot of soft zone coverage against a quarterback that took lots of underneath dumpoffs.

Howe does not allocate underneath zone passes like that to defenders, so he only charged Hall with one pass for 31 yards.

This forum is funny. It was just last week after a win people were complaining that the Pat's still suck and people arguing that they should tank and others wondering about the future of BB.

The "TANK" crowd may be having some issues after this win.
Don't worry, the Pats will lose again and you can get your "MOJO" back.

Gotta say, it's nice to have the semblance of NE football we're all used to: a **** weather game where we display great ball security and discipline, against the Ravens, with some hat trick plays, that never feels too safe until the waning 30 seconds, where all levels of the team show up.

Secondary held their own, we understood our weakness at DL and minimized any mistakes by not relying on them to do anything but try to contain Lamar.

Downpour in the end didn't hurt

Loved it. Favorite game of the year. Second to the Seahawks game.

Harris and Meyers, man. I love it. They're good pieces and Cam played well himself, with only a weird throw or two in there. Loved it.

Edit: on the ball security note, that's nothing to brush off - Ravens have been great at takeaways and scoring on defense. In terrible weather, nonetheless. I can't remember if we had a turnover, which is good considering that means if we did, it didn't turn into much or steal the game from us.

Cam is deadly with a tight end, look at years with Greg Olson. He already has good rapport now with Meyers, Burkhead, White. So TE is missing. If the OC ever stopped being obtuse and unleashed Asiasi in the passing game, look for Cam's passing numbers to spike. Izzo is a total waste. Harry too. Play Byrd over Harry.

.

This is guy is Deonte Skinner circa 2014 starting over Mayo.

Like Skinner, It's bizarre why he's out there.

It's him, Bentley or a DB (like Williams for example). Given the matchups of having to balance mainly zone defense against both run and pass the coaching staff figured he was the best fit. There isn't a LB like Mayo on the bench to go to and Uche is rush specialist at this point. Bad analogy.

LOL, The Pats very likely aren't making the playoffs. But, they're also not going to suck forever as lots of people here and elsewhere want them to. And the people here who were fervently wishing and hoping and praying that they would fold like an accordian are feverishly sweating right now. F### them.

After the fight I saw in them last night I wouldn't rule them out. In fact I think they'll make the playoffs. That was an impressive win.

Great win. I love beating the Ravens. As much as i'm enjoying this, it does not change my mind about this team in anyway. The Pats won 23-17. They missed a PAT so let's call it 24. One score required a Meyers dime and an insane Burkhead catch. Meyers may be a former HS QB but that play succeeding like it did in that coverage was a 20 to 1 shot at best. The pass needed to be absolutely perfect and it was.

The Ravens had massive unforced fumbles at key times which stopped drives or plays that would usually succeed. The Pats on the other hand managed to play a clean turnover game in these conditions. That doesn't usually happen even with good discipline and preparation.

The pats got breaks on close yardage situations and unforced penalties that gave our offense a massive boost. The Pats on the other hand committed 3 penalties for 18 yards.

Basically the Pats played an almost completely clean game and the Ravens shot themselves in the foot at several points. They also made a number of huge plays and made smart plays pretty much the entire time while the Ravens had a number of mental errors that had nothing to do with penalties. Drops, missing open passes, being late to certain spots. Not to mention needing to adjust to key injuries.

As much as I hate the Ravens and I'm glad we beat them today if we played 100 times we'd be lucky to win 30 of them. This game had nearly everything go our way and the Pats won by a single score when the Ravens had the ball late with a chance to come back multiple times. It was a heck of a game though.
You must learn to grudgingly accept the win.

Some here like to beat a dead a horse...
I'm gonna beat my own drum:
Last Tuesday, I called the Jakobi pass.
Said he would play the role of Jules in that JE11 to Dola pass vs. Crows in 2014.
Because Im a genius, I also said he'd throw it to either Burkhead! Byrd or Gunner.(post#45 " on to the ravens")
I also said I'd laugh my balls off if they did it.
I laughed hard and fortunately my testicles are intact.

It was genius to throw it to a RB. A lb on coverage on a double pass deep is a classic mismatch.

Almost all games are like this . Esp when the pats won over 20 yrs. Kyle shanahan doesn't call stupid pass plays we dont win in atlanta. That is the name of the game. One team makes more critical mistake or multitude of them than the other . Without mistakes , no one would win or all will be 1pt games. seahawks handoff the ball to lynch we lose another. I dont want to apologize for the stupidity of the other team and wrap around that as a compliment to a win . We make enough mistakes as well.

Honestly should have beat jills and Denver too
I would say this game and denver are swapped now. Mostly people expected this game to be tough and even a loss and expected denver to be a win.
Honestly the most important game so far was the jets game last week. Without pulling out a win there in the last second , this game had no meaning.

.
So what about Ryan Izzo. In the last 2 games he's been targeted twice, made 2 incredible catches and had two 20+ yd completions. I've wondered on several occasions why Izzo hasn't been targeted more. He's pretty much caught everything thrown at him over the season.
