Brandon Browner is arrested by La Verne CA police (again), this time for breaking and entering into the residence of a woman with whom he once had a relationship, and then fleeing the scene after stealing a Rolex from within the home.
Two days later he was officially charged with attempted murder and three other felonies.
In December Browner would be sentenced to eight years in prison, after pleading no contest to the attempted murder charge.
Browner allegedly assaulted and threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend over the weekend in La Verne, Calif.

Brandon Browner was arrested Sunday, July 8, 2018, after police say he broke into the Southern California house of an ex-girlfriend who has a restraining order against him.
Former Patriots cornerback Brandon Browner was charged with attempted murder on Tuesday after allegedly assaulting and threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend over the weekend in the Los Angeles suburb of La Verne, Calif. Browner, 33, won a Super Bowl in his only season with New England (2014). He is from nearby Pomona, Calif.
Here’s a timeline of events that led up to Browner’s arraignment on Tuesday:
■ In September 2017, Marin Foster, Browner’s ex-girlfriend and the mother of two of his children, files for a temporary restraining order against Browner. In her written application, Foster cites Browner as having assaulted her, broken her tailbone, busted her eardrum, and given her several black eyes. Foster also intimates Browner threatened to kill her, quoting him as saying, “Imma bust on you. Imma dangerous man.’’
■ In October 2017, despite Foster’s claims, the court finds no basis on which to issue a permanent restraining order.
■ On May 6, 2018, prosecutors allege Browner inflicted “unjustifiable physical pain and mental suffering’’ against a 2-year-old child, as well as using “force and violence’’ against Foster. The incident occurs in Pomona.
■ Browner had five criminal cases filed against him between the court’s October ruling and the May 6 incident. On May 15, 2018, three of the five cases are dismissed.
■ In June 2018, Browner pleads no contest in Los Angeles County Superior Court to misdemeanor charges of battery and cruelty to a child by inflicting injury. He receives one day in jail, three years of probation, 48 hours of community service, and an order to stay clear of the victim for three years.
■ On July 8, 2018, at 10:07 a.m., Browner breaks into Foster’s home, per police reports. Someone noticed a man attempting to break through a locked window at the La Verne residence and promptly notified police.
■ Prosecutors say once Browner was inside he threatened to kill Foster. Browner chased her, dragged her, and attempted to smother her in a carpet. Police also cite Browner as having “physically forced the victim back into her residence’’ when she tried to escape.
■ Browner flees the scene before police arrive. He leaves carrying a Rolex watch valued at around $20,000.
■ Browner is arrested hours later in Azusa, Calif., on suspicion of felony charges.
■ Police reports from the scene indicate the victim held a restraining order against Browner, who had previously been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.
■ On July 10, 2018, Browner is indicted by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office on four felony charges. In addition to the attempted murder charge, Browner is facing prison time on counts of felony robbery, burglary, and false imprisonment, along with two counts of child endangerment.
■ Browner faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, per the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. Browner’s arraignment will be continued on July 30. His bail is set at $10 million.

Tom Brady was on vacation up in Montana and the Pats QB has been pretty active with his Instagram account on social media. And the Brady clan had a spirited game of dodgeball with the QB even beaning his mom. But for the record, it appeared that his wife Gisele was the most active and accurate of all players out there.
Bleacher Report Story of Edelman Suspension Gets Patriots Fans Ire:
Mike Freeman knew what buttons to push…and he did it expertly. Julian Edelman is hardly the first player to be busted for PEDs and certainly won’t be the last, however, the latest Bleacher Report piece throws the thought out there that Edelman’s suspension should lead everyone to question whether we are watching an honest game.
By invoking that question it was sure to fire up the legion of Patriot haters out there, giving them all the excuses to slam down their Block House India Pale Ale and scream for asterisks. It also quickly inflamed the passions of the fan base here as they feel, Freeman is making a “Patriots-mountain” out of an anthill when he very subtly calls into question whether Edelman’s catch against the Falcons in the Super Bowl was legit.
There is a difference between the baseball steroid inflated home run era and NFL players getting caught up in the HGH testing while rehabbing from serious injuries. That includes Edelman and that he that “he that won’t be named” individual who couldn’t feel his fingertips after neck surgery. But perhaps not.
He did step over the line by injecting race into it, “white man in a black league” as if that had anything to do with anything other than to, once again, inflame both sides of the equation.
In a totally unrelated side to this, and maybe it is just the oversaturation this spring/summer of the talk of the Patriots’ issues inside the building, but I have this sneaking suspicion that the team may try to dangle #11 in a trade scenario this summer. With 2018 and 2019 remaining on his contract, at a pretty affordable cap hit, it wouldn’t be the strangest thing we’ve seen.
Unless of course, teams subscribe to Freeman’s take that many teams believe Edelman is an overrated product, and of others that he’s working with a system QB. Take your pick. We’ll see how that plays out.
2nd Year Player Deatrich Wise May Benefit from Clayborn’s Presence:
Trey Flowers has been mentioned quite often as the player most pundits believe to benefit the most from the addition of DE Adrian Clayborn this offseason. And that figures to be the team’s plans for third downs, having both of them on the field as much as possible on third down. But one player who could also benefit from Clayborn’s presence is 2nd year DE Deatrich Wise. . . . . .
Tom Brady and family continue to live it up on their Montana vacation.

Rob Gronkowski may be a Buffalo, New York native, but over the weekend he showed no love to his hometown team.

After listening to WEEI I heard a few respected personalities say he should not go to court because he did "something." Fair enough.
There was "something" in the sample. They can't say "masking agent, adderol, or whatever new steroid thing that looks enough like something banned to trigger a positive" every time.
I also understand the two host sports talk radio format where 1 guy draws the short straw and has to argue a position that will generate calls. (Usually from Russ Golman. )
I also understand that radio hosting is not reporting.
Now for the funny part: Here is a scenario that...
July 8, 2019:
According to PFF, Jackson allowed only 22 receptions on 42 targets for a combined 262 yards as well as zero touchdowns to go along with his three picks
www.patsfans.com
What a difference a year makes. At this time last year, J.C. Jackson was an undrafted rookie cornerback from Maryland and a longshot to make the roster. But not only did he make the roster out of training camp but he developed into a starter opposite of Stephon Gilmore for the Patriots.
After a very impressive spring and summer where he shined at training camp, Jackson played in only about 16 percent of the defensive snaps for the first nearly three-quarters of the season. But from Week 12 onwards, he played in nearly 80 percent of the defensive snaps, starting in both the AFC Championship and the Super Bowl where the Patriots held the Rams to just three points.
In the last several years, Jackson is the third CB plucked by the Patriots as an UDFA to become a starter or regular contributor. Malcolm Butler in 2014 and Jonathan Jones in 2016 before him also were undrafted.
He shined in man coverage and was able to stick with and mirror opposing wide receivers. He also has shown extremely good ball skills with three interceptions and six passes defensed. As we have seen countless times, covering the opponent is one thing. But having the awareness and skills when the ball is in the air is another. Jackson has been able to do that.

Who's the best 1st-round pick in Pats history?
"Even well before Bill Belichick took over the football operation in 2000, for those of us who far too often leave that period of time out of big-picture conversations, there are franchise-altering first-rounders who made their way to New England. Pro Football Hall of Famers. Team Hall of Famers."
"Then once the page was turned on this millennium, Belichick and his staff added to the list of all-time first-rounders. Today's Great Patriots Debate asks, simply, who's the best first-round pick in franchise history? There are loads of...
That's a quite an impressive list.
I'm biased but my vote goes for good 'ole Drew Bledsoe. It's a nostalgia pick b/c he is the reason I even became a football fan in the first place (I was a middle school kid who had only followed the NBA at that point).
My obsession went from the Celtics to the Patriots. For those who want to call me a bandwagoner, just know that the height of my Celtics fandom was when they were their absolute worst.
I was too young for the Bird and the Big Three......'my Celtics' were Dee Brown, Sherman Douglass, Dino Radja, Eric Montross, Nervous Pervis, and Dana...
# 73
I have a Red Throwback Hannah jersey too
2nd Drew Bledsoe
3rd Mc Ginest
Mike Haynes was an excellent pick
First round pick implies that it was used in the draft, the pick for BB probably doesn't qualify, but if it does then that is the best pick.
Hannah was the best player, most assuredly the starting guard on the NFL's all time team.
Without Richard Seymour the Pats don't win any rings from 2001-2004, the team was woefully weak along the defensive line in those early days and he was dominant at the biggest position of need. That he was money hungry and finally forced his way out bothers a lot of people but the guy is starting on the NFL's all decade team. He should be in both Hall Of Fames...
Oooh. Tough question. A case can be made for many on the list. I picked Ty Law because of his incredible play against Peyton Manning in the playoffs in 2001 and 2003, and for his INT returned for a touchdown in the Super Bowl in 2001. His play in those games lead directly to our first two Super Bowl rings.
I think you have to look at who is going to Canton. Hannah and Law are already there, essentially. Seymour should be, likely will be. High, Willie, MCcourty all are nice players and certainly red jacket worthy, but probably not going to Canton. Same for Big Vince and Mankins. Only one of them were considered the best ever at their position, so that's the winner. Hannah.
Hannah. No doubt about it. Man wish he could be playing right now. Of course I say that to myself every 10 years so he would have to be a robot lol. The fact I think that every 10 years shows how dominant the Pats have been.
On offense: John Hannah
On defense: Mike Haynes...he'd still be an All-Pro today...what a player...
wait...wha?...no Tony "Champagne" Eason on this list?...outrageous!
1st Place 1977 combo of Raymond Clayborn and Stanley Morgan.
2nd Place 1973 trio of Hannah, Cunnignham and Stingley.
3rd Place 1994 Willie McGinest
Remember when the Pats could draft? Those were good times.
3. Dominique Easley
2. The Next One
1. Some combination of draft picks in a trade down
In terms of immediate impact? Terry Glenn and it's not even close.
Wilfork. Completely Dominant player until the ACL at the end of his career He was a HOF caliber player for 10 years, with SB rings on both ends. He should be in Canton when the time comes.
Always difficult to make comparisons over different times in the NFL... I have to go with Hannah as he was just that dominant for along period of time.. but there there are Haynes, Law and McGinnest to consider as well..
A better what to phrase this would be to do this by decade.. for example, best 1st round draft pick of the 60's, 70's etc.
The difference is when we pick, higher expectations for a lower first round pick??
John Hannah pick #4 in 1973
Haynes pick #5 in 1976
Bledsoe pick #1 in 1993
McGinnest pick #4 in 1994
Law pick #25 in 1995
Seymour #6 in 2001
Wilfork #21 in 2004...
I’ve always wondered who Belichick would prefer in their primes between Seymour and Wilfork. It may not be as obvious as it seems.
I want Wonder Woman to kidnap BB, tie him up with her rope so I can ask him a bunch of questions.
