The Hall voters are a clown show. It’s Ron Borges and a bunch of yo-yos like him. They’ve put out this idiotic idea of “first ballot” having some kind of special meaning. Guys are either Hall of Fame worthy or their not. The same voters don’t vote for players the first time and then vote them in later, despite the player being the same. The entire thing is some silly power-trip with the voters creating tiers of Hall of Fame worthiness even though that’s not what the Hall of Fame is. Terrell Owens rightfully called them out on their stupid BS.

2nd Place 1973 trio of Hannah, Cunnignham and Stingley.
3rd Place 1994 Willie McGinest

Wilfork. Completely Dominant player until the ACL at the end of his career He was a HOF caliber player for 10 years, with SB rings on both ends. He should be in Canton when the time comes.

I’ve always wondered who Belichick would prefer in their primes between Seymour and Wilfork. It may not be as obvious as it seems.

Those placing Ty Law ahead of Mike Haynes have obviously never seen Mike Haynes play.
No disrespect to Law, but Haynes was simply better...much better.

From the selections offered I also feel Bledsoe had the most significant overall impact on the franchise at a crucial time in its history -- the transition from perennial league doormat to winners. I understand Hannah's popularity and longevity as the team's greatest-ever offensive lineman. But mostly by the nature of his position, his on-field impact in terms of tipping the balance of games arguably was less than Law, McGinest and Wilfork.

Always difficult to make comparisons over different times in the NFL... I have to go with Hannah as he was just that dominant for along period of time.. but there there are Haynes, Law and McGinnest to consider as well..

A better what to phrase this would be to do this by decade.. for example, best 1st round draft pick of the 60's, 70's etc.

The difference is when we pick, higher expectations for a lower first round pick??

John Hannah pick #4 in 1973
Haynes pick #5 in 1976
Bledsoe pick #1 in 1993
McGinnest pick #4 in 1994
Law pick #25 in 1995
Seymour #6 in 2001
Wilfork #21 in 2004
Hightower #25 in 2012

The only negative about being a perennial winner in this league is where you pick on draft day.. but I can live with that, despite the NFL's best efforts the Pats do pretty good overall.
