One of the problems with Patriots fans is the disconnect from reality that's come because BB/TB have so skewed things here.
You can win a Super Bowl in any number of ways, and with any number of weaknesses. That doesn't mean that you should be trying to do it that way. The Ravens won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer under center. That doesn't mean that he's legitimately a SB level QB. It means that his team's defense overcame his limitations. BB repeatedly looks for middle-deep threat OWRs, hybrid LB/S, etc... because he knows those positions matter when it comes to increasing the likelihood of success. The Patriots have won Super Bowls without Gronk. The Patriots have won Super Bowls without Edelman. That doesn't mean that those players weren't important and needed.
Need:
Definition of NEED
In New England, Brady overcomes the offensive weaknesses, and BB overcomes the defensive weaknesses. That doesn't mean that you don't need talented players filling roles. And that's something that could become more true in the next couple of years, as Brady ages.
