I just looked at the box score.
The Jets kicker missed the extra point on the first 2 TD. After the 3rd TD which put them up 18-14 with 9 1/2 minutes left in the 2nd quarter, the Jets decide to go for 2. They miss, of course, and don’t score another point the rest of the game.
I suppose I can see the advantage of being up 20-14 versus 19-14 (assuming kicker actually does his job this time), but this seems really early to be chasing after points to me. There were still 40 minutes left in the game. Does 6 points versus 5 points really make a difference at this point? Well, I guess not since they lost by 15.
