They have to get the QB. I don’t care how much they have to trade up or if they sit still but they have to get the qb.I do.
If the rookie QB they like is sitting there at 7 or later they are pouncing. It'll take their 15 this year and maybe a couple more. BB might trade his 1 next year but I doubt it.
They are probably going to be 10-6ish next year and too far back to move that high up.
...or they are sandbagging how they feel about Stidham which I don't think they are.
Unless he restructures his deal I don't think they have the cap space anymore to trade for Jimmy.
Curious, how does:
Smith, Henry, Asiasi and Keane
work with 3 or 4 of them on the field at the same time? Doesn't that create mismatches with size against corners and speed against LBs? Was last year a whiff on TE's or are they cooking up something different, like we saw in the SB against the Rams?
Obvious run personnel on the field, then they spread it out? Just curious
Is "3 players short of a roster" a nice way of saying "not quite all there"?
They can extend Jimmy, let him get his 26 mill with 25 of it converted to Sb on a 3 year extension. 7 mill cap hit, but I’d rather go all in on the draft choice. No way they are paying Jimmy $26m with his injury history. That I am certain of.
Granted, I just washed over the depth part of it as it's implied. Not many teams go get the top FA's at TE after drafting two in the 3rd round, especially when you already have 2 FB's on the roster. Seems like either Asisasi and Keene are underwhelming, or.... there's something afoot schematically. There will be some formations with 3 of them, but I would say most of the time you're looking at 2 or less. The reason to have depth there though, is that if you want your base offense to be based on 2-TE's you need MORE than two TE's that you trust. Otherwise you're one injury away from having to abandon your base. I don't know if that's what they're going for (or if they feel good enough about Asiasi and/or Keene to even make it relevant), but that would be the philosophy.
Certainly doable. He's so fragile though...They can extend Jimmy, let him get his 26 mill with 25 of it converted to Sb on a 3 year extension. 7 mill cap hit, but I’d rather go all in on the draft choice.

Mac should be there at 15 but I think they have bigger plans.I like JG, but his injury history concerns me.. even though his cap hit can be minimized would rather try to trade up for a QB (Mac Jones??) who can be here for up to 5 years...
Based on my count you have up to 10 teams which can justify drafting a QB ahead of NE. The bidding could get out of hand.I think they would like to have Jimmy G back evidenced by the fact that they engaged the 49ers twice but I don't think he's going anywhere.
They aren't going to release a starting caliber QB if they don't have a viable replacement. All these teams talked a big game about QB movement and then when push came to shove stuck with their guys.

I agree many teams COULD take a QB, but if I was to look at the list and say if it is more likely that they do or do not take a QB, I'd lean towards far fewer.Based on my count you have up to 10 teams which can justify drafting a QB ahead of NE. The bidding could get out of hand.

If it’s instead of a qb in round 1 I say no.Certainly doable. He's so fragile though...
