I very much doubt Zappe will endure the PS yoyo this season. He's 25. He wants to be on someone's 53 or playing elsewhere (maybe Canada). They can put him in a protected slot, but that only stops another team from signing him during the two week contract. He can just wait a few days until the contract ends and then sign. He's too good for the PS. He'll be a decent backup for someone (Vikings?).

Well, there are different reasons to keep four quarterbacks. I think our situation is more like the skins when they drafted RG3 and Cousins. They went into the season with four.

I don't know why he is even taking reps from the other guys. All this crap about "showcasing" him or trying to drum up a trade market for what? A conditional 7th? The guy was available to anyone last year and no one wanted him. Since then he has produced some really crappy film and most around the league would assume he is cut regardless.

Yeah why would any team trade for him when putting him up on the trade block means the Pats are going to move him off the roster anyway. They can have him for free on waivers.
