I wouldn't say THAT. Like I said, bill knows exactly what it would take to get him to move on from TB12. If a time comes when TB12 thinks he can still play, and BB disagrees, there's a window for Brady to go somewhere else and try to prove him wrong. Hope it doesn't happen, but the scenario is plausible enough not to rule it out IMHO.

TB12's mentality leaves the possibility open of him living in denial for a couple years on some other franchise before actually hanging up his cleats. I've always thought that a guy with that kind of competitive fire is unlikely to approach retirement with grace and aplomb. Not when he always wants the ball. Not when he thinks he can still get it done. He doesn't have the personality of someone who can just switch the fire off like that.

I think you're leaving out some fundamental aspects of Brady's makeup. His adaptability displays an extreme self awareness. He is able constantly see flaws in his game and actively works to improve them. When his play starts declining, he will be the first to know. His standards are too high, and his self-awareness to sharp for him to continue past his effectiveness. He an BB may disagree about that time, but TB won't play till he sucks.

Brady should retire after this season. There comes a time where longevity because the reason for you records and not how good you actually were. Plus, his body has taken enough hits for a lifetime. I will hate to read about Brady later on in life not doing well mentally.
