That’s search also lists zero of our IDL or edge players
The data you chose doesn’t support your argument
It shows 3 of the 6 players I was talking about I. The top 32 LBs. I didn't check the other positions to see where they put wise and Godchaux. And I think White might be the best of the 6 but he's still raw so not going to be on these lists yet.

I'm going to go off my own opinions anyway but I figured I could do one search and kill you're argument.

Right now, we would send anyone a 6th who would give us someone who could backup LT with same quality as Lowe. The situation at LT is just that bad.
That guy is a borderline starter. Gonna cost a lot more than a 6th.

No it shows 2 of the 6 players you were talking about being in the top 32 of a position some teams only have 1 guy playing. Takitski wasn’t in your list, because he isn’t playing.
The other 4 did not appear so your source has them below average not “well above average”.
In fact your search killed your own argument.

LOL, but there was a chance; Jim Carrey married Lauren Holly, the bugger...didn't last, of course, she being a 10 and...

I like Wise, White, and Godchaux if you don't that's fine.
They aren’t well above average. The entire front 7 are role players that aren’t special. (White being the potential exception but he has a long way to go)
Adding a terrible DT2 and no depth makes role players a liability as opposed to being a good unit mixed in with guys like Judon, Barmore, Guy, etc.

Let’s put it this way. I predicted earlier the defense will be in the bottom 1/4 25th- 32nd in points, yards or both and I will also add that I expect the run defense to give up at least 1 more yard per carry than last years league leading 3.3. You expect them evidently to be a top 10 or top 5 defense.
So rather than go back and forth on expectations let’s leave it what they do on the field.

seems reasonable

I think that we all might agree that there may be a signing that improves our current front seven, given that Barmore, Judon and Takitaki aren't there.

Wise, White and Godchaux do make pretty good line with Jennings on the other side.

The Back-ups of Ekuale, Pharms (?), Hill (?) with Uche, Ximenes, and possibly McMillan is pretty strong.. Could Pharms and Hill be upgraded? Sure. It will be interesting to see if the Pats make any moves here.

How do waivers work? I know we're third in line, but can we get everyone we want at that position, or does it go in rounds like the draft where we only get our top choice and then have to wait for everyone else to pick before we pick the next one?

You're kind of making my point you're holding the Judon trade, Barmore injury, and your overall opinion of the D/front seven against the individuals.

I'm having a hard time deciding on where to predict this D as a whole because I'm nervous about the impact of losing Bill. But yes if I had to make a prediction I would say it's a top ten D probably like 9 or ten.

I mostly base this on the secondary though so I'm still not really making my own case other than to say that I think the players we originally were talking about White, Wise, Godchaux, Bentley, and Tavai I don't think any are top ten but all are firmly above average for their positions.

With waivers in the NFL, you can put in as many claims as you want. If no one in front of you claims the player, they're yours. It's not like fantasy football where you go to the bottom to wait your turn again.

For instance, if the Pats claim 5 players, they get all 5 unless Washington or Carolina put in a claim.

For each waiver, we are 3rd in line. So, if the worst two teams don't pick them, we have choice from hundreds of players.

That being said, veterans (4 years I believe) are not subject to waivers and are immediately available to everyone as free agents.
