Reid coached up some average QBs to play very well. It's not all about Mahomes.
He was 1-4 in the playoffs with the Chiefs before Mahomes' arrival. He and his teams was never a threat in the AFC until he got talked into taking Mahomes by Brett Veach (who got promoted to GM after that). Reid was just a "good coach". Now he's at the top of the list.

@Ian and anyone else wondering about Gillette attendance today: people didn't take their seats until shortly before kickoff because of the rain. I'd estimate the lower bowl about 40-45 percent full, upper deck was pretty sparse, I'd say 25 percent tops. (I didn't post from the game due to rain/soaked gloves.) Persistent cold rain all day, pretty miserable conditions matched by miserable offense.

One step at a time, lets get to the playoffs and win a game there first then we can get our hopes up. The TB years are gone, never gonna happen again in the NFL, we were lucky to be a part of it. If we can get back to being a winning competitive team, that's good for now.
GMs & coaches will take shortcuts so that they can get some wins and continue to get paid. But those shortcuts will bite you in the butt eventually. Having people build the team the right way, bringing on the best players instead of the players who will save your job, and establishing a winning culture, having continuity, is how you win a Super Bowl.

I think New England fans are spoiled. Those of us who live in a non-Patriot NFL city get to hear the suffering of the home fans a lot. What the Patriots are going through now is nothing in comparison to what most NFL fans experience.

Looked pretty awful, and it seemed like it rained throughout.

This is idiotic.

Anyone who doesn't understand that Tom was a game manager that year and that the defense carried them doesn't know football at all.
Uh.....Bill had a 4 time Pro Bowl QB with multiple playoff wins and a Super Bowl appearance, but wasn't playing well going 5-13.

Have fun coming up with a rebuttal on that.

He sucked in every game after that what's your point??

My point was to counter the false claim that Zappe was better than Mac all season.

I'm not spoiled, this team's offense is historically bad. It didn't have to be this bad. We knew last year Mac wasn't the guy but we blamed the OC and instead of making a backup plan at QB we stayed pat. Same with the OL. As a fan I've a right to ***** when they put a ****ty product on the field. The Patriots have a big problem who's going to fix it?

I want to see Malik now you were right about Zappe.

He's going to find something from 20 years ago it might take him a while though.

I thought it looked about 60%, more in the lower level and less as you looked up. Lot of red up top.

The red areas are club seats, they're rarely full. Those people tend to congregate in the hospitality lounge behind the glass.

It isn’t about being right or wrong. Me being right isn’t best for being a Patriots fan unless you want them to tank.

In a perfect world, Mac would have turned into a top 5 QB and Zappe would have turned into a top back up. We got neither. And now we have to start from scratch to rebuild the QB room.

Not the current cast of characters lead by father time BB.

I don't see why a rebuttal nor even making the OP was even necessary.

It's a stupid, nonsensical argument

I see a Double Dip @ QB Penix Jr and Rattler from SC.
