I like this . But Hoyer and Anderson might need to be accomodated . Nixon has very tough chances and so is schooler .

I wish this were our final 53 .

I agree with your comments. Sometimes I make decisions more with my heart instead of mind.

I'm glad he didn't include Thanksdad with the OL... But we still need a backup Center.
Agree. I'm still on the Russey Not Hockstein train (I need to work on my names)

So am I, especially since Hines didn't take any snaps there vs Carolina...

Can someone compare asiasi and Jordan Humphrey ? The only worry I have is how fast is he and with the #1 team will he be able to win contested catches . We have Parker who is a bigger bodied receiver with better route running and speed . Presume Jordan is similar to Parker but with much lower upside. If so, where does he fit in considering we have Meyers or Bourne who might be on the slants or middle.

Will Nixon be a better fit in slot or is it Jordan . Nixon seems to remind me of Edelman and feel he would become a force to reckon and hate to lose him .

I would want Jordan, asiasi and Nixon play with Mac and see how they perform with raiders.

Decided not to worry about 6th rounders and UDFAs clearing waivers because precedent says they probably will.

QB (3)- Jones, Hoyer. Zappe- contemplated Hoyer on PS , BUT the cap hit would be too high, and I rather Hoyer dress behind Jones this season than Zappe.

RB (4)- D. Harris, Stevenson, Montgomery, Strong

TE (2)- Henry, Smith - Asiasi was active only once last season despite Smith’s struggles. Wouldn’t mind him coming back on PS, but he’s not worthy of a spot on the 53

WR (7) - Meyers, Parker, Agholor, Bourne, Humphrey, Nixon, (Thornton IR 8/31)

OL (8)- Brown, Strange, Andrews, Onwenu, Cajuste, Herron, Hambright, Russey - Wynn traded.

DL (5)- Barmore, Godcheaux, Guy, Wise, Davis. - Henry Anderson with his $750,000 salary guarantee starts on PS along with Roberts and Ray
Edge (5)- Judon, Jennings, Uche, D.Mitchell, (Perkins(IR 8/31)
LB (4) - Bentley, Tavai, Wilson, McMillan
CB (5) - Mills, Jon Jones, M. Jones. Jack Jones, Wade - Myles Bryant started last season on the PS and will do so again. Terrance Mitchell resigned to 53 after Perkins goes on IR
S (5) - McCourty, Phillips, Dugger, Peppers, Bledsoe
ST (5)- Folk, Bailey, Slater, Bethel, Schooler - Cardona is resigned to 53 after Thornton placed on IR. Cody Davis starts season on PS.

from how well Roberts has played, it is doubtful he makes it through waivers. With joint practices, etc. and all the reports coming out, he is hardly a secret.

Do they really go with only 7 OL on the roster? I get that Ferentz would be the 8th and likely a game day promotion to the active roster in September. But that still feels light to me, not that anyone has really stepped up to earn a spot. I wonder if they try to trade potential depth at DL or DB to improve the backup OL situation at cutdowns?
Alex Barth went with 7 in his projection. He felt that O line would be the easiest group to move up and down from the practice squad. I agree slim chance our O-line back ups get plucked by another team.

I saw Schooler as the protector on the punt team, I'm thinking he is making the club for ST.

So, I went at this a little differently with the last week of joint practices still coming up. I went through and added everyone I thought was a lock to make the roster (if healthy) as of today. This is based on my own opinions, but also (in the case of someone like Tavai) what BB has been saying publicly. Obviously a lot can happen (trades, injuries, etc), but I have 46 "locks" on the team:

QB (3) M.Jones, B.Hoyer, B.Zappe
RB (4) D.Harris, R.Stevenson, P.Strong, T.Montgomery
WR (5) J.Meyers, D.Parker, K.Bourne, N.Agholor, M.Slater
TE (2) H.Henry, J.Smith
C (2) D.Andrews, K.Russey

T (3) I.Wynn, T.Brown, Y.Cajuste
DE (1) D.Wise
DT (3) L.Guy, C.Barmore, D.Godchaux
ILB(4) J.Bentley, M.Wilson, R.McMillan, J.Tavai
OLB(3) M.Judon, J.Uche, A.Jennings
CB (6) J.Mills, Jo.Jones, M.Jones, Ja.Jones, T.Mitchell, J.Bethel
SS (2) K.Dugger, A.Phillips
FS (2) D.McCourty, J.Peppers
ST (3) N.Folk, J.Bailey, J.Cardona

IR to Return (1) T. Thornton

Total players: 46
Created with Pats Picker: Pats Picker 2022

I'm assuming Thornton goes on IR once the first 53 is set. Also I used Hambright and Russey as placeholders. I don't think they go into the season with less than 8 OL on the 53, but those reserve interior spots are an open competition right now.

So there are 7 spots open that could go to any combination of:

3rd TE
5th WR
1-2 OL
1-2 DL
Reserve LB/ST
Reserve DB/ST

I went heavy on the special teamers. Wade over Bryant to add some height to our CB corps.
Hope that Ray, McGrone, Humphry, Rousey, Hambright, Anderson, Bryant among others land on the PS.

I feel like 14 in the secondary is high, 7 OL is low….but it could happen.

Yeah J.Tavai might not make it. I have McGrone…most seem to not like that one either.

J Bethel and T Mitchell are not guaranteed . S Wade and Bledsoe are making plays consistently .

I am hoping we are able to slot Hoyer into PS and elevate as and when needed .

That way we have 43 spots and 10 open spots.

Candidates for those 10 are

Hoyer(1)
Jordan/Nixon/Asiasi(2 out of 3)
Bledsoe,Shaun wade , Myles Bryant ,
T Mitchell, Justin bethel( 3 out of 5)
Mcgrone,Perkins ( 1 out of 2)
Carl Davis(1)
1 OT
Sam roberts/ Ray( 1 of them)
