a fine roster. I guess that means that I agree almost all your choices.
ONLY DIFFERENCES FOR ME
1) Anderson over Nixon (we need another DL much more than another WR)
2) Cajuste over Steuber (Cajuste may be good enough to start, certainly a fine backup). Steuber is fine for the Practice Squad.
3) A signee from another team over Hambright.
4) Bethel over Bledsoe.
5) I suppose Ray is as good a choice as any to fill Ekuale's roster spot for a couple of weeks.

I don’t want Bryant over Wade, but have to think he’ll make the team if he’s seemingly our punt returner.

Meant to put Cajuste, he’s a lock.

Good list by Zack Cox. The only changes I would probably make would be add T. Mitchell and Bledsoe and remove Tavai and Myles Bryant (wishful thinking) and also see if I could find a spot for Asiasi.

Stranger things have happened, but it'd be weird for Bryant to be our returner and not make the roster. I don't get it personally (me typing this from my desk at my IT job), I'd rather see Marcus Jones or maybe Ty Montgomery do it and cut Bryant.

I put Asiasi on mine because there wasn't really an alternative, but I think he is cut and we claim a TE on waivers during cut downs.

Phil Perry has Ronnie Perkins cut, which is interesting...

IMO I think the Pats have already decided M. Jones is the punt returner and they are looking to see who can back him up in case he can't go for some reason...which is why Bryant has been there.

Bryant has been doing a great job there. I thought that fake return when he was around the 20 and the ball went into the endzone was top notch.

Do they really go with only 7 OL on the roster? I get that Ferentz would be the 8th and likely a game day promotion to the active roster in September. But that still feels light to me, not that anyone has really stepped up to earn a spot. I wonder if they try to trade potential depth at DL or DB to improve the backup OL situation at cutdowns?

Good excerpt from Alex Barth...."open roster spots, bubble players" . I would also have added Terrance Mitchell and Myles Bryant to that list.

Based on positional minimums and projected roster locks, the Patriots five or six total at-large spots open on the roster this year. Other players that project to be in the running for those spots along with Humphrey include Nixon and Wilkerson, running back Kevin Harris, offensive linemen Kody Russey and Arlington Hambright, defensive linemen Sam Roberts, LaBryan Ray, Henry Anderson, and Carl Davis, linebackers Ronnie Perkins and Cameron McGrone, cornerback Shaun Wade, safety Joshuah Bledsoe, and special teamers Brenden Schooler and DaMarcus Mitchell. When people talk about the ‘roster bubble,’ this is essentially that concept, qualified. This same roster path can, for the most part, be applied to any of those players as well as Humphrey.

On a totally unrelated topic , how is Mac looking in the games . I missed the first quarter and could not watch him . Saw zappe and felt save for the ill timed interception , he looked pretty good .

Do you see the sophomore improvements in Mac like what we see with Barmore or is it still in flux because of OL and playcalling duties?

He was a little off missed some throws early on then got better as the game went on. He Threw a nice Deep one to Agholor glad it's preseason.

Am in complete, 100% agreement.... Unless Jonathan Jones' experiment on the outside becomes permanent, Marcus Jones becomes the first-string Slot CB and Bryant his primary backup... Wade still deserves to make the 53 regardless.
