Incredibly early and not relevant 53 man roster

Let me see if I understand your position.

1) We wait until after the cut to 53 and guarantee the salary of the veteran for the year.

2) We cut the player expecting no one to pick him up, and he passes waivers.

3) We sign the player to the Practice Squad, so now he has ADDITIONAL compensation of Practice Squad pay.

4) During the season, we move him up to the 53 one to four times and pay him minimum for that week.
===================
A) If no one else wants the player after we cut him, this is fine with the player. Essentially, he gets a bonus each week that he is on the 53 man squad.

B) Of course, any team could sign him at any time and pay him by the week. If a team needed him to play for 4 weeks, he would get a bonus from them that would cover the 4 weeks. It seems unlikely that this is sooo bad that he couldn't sign a contract other teams that would get him more than the limit of Practice Squad moves to the patriot roster. I suppose this would work for Ferentz, although even he might find a team to pay him for a couple of weeks.
Hoyer.

He expects some of the cuts to make it to PS. Vets like Hoyer & Folk don't need to clear waivers.

The suggestion was stashing players by putting them on the IR before the season started, thus saving a roster spot.
=====
on IR before his rookie season started, not on the 53 during the season, significant contributor later in his career
==========
Hoyer was on the 53 and played some during his rookie year.

Please list the successes that were on IR for the patriots for their whole rookie year.

Still don't understand the Kevin Harris pick...

Wouldn't be a complete shock to see one of Assyassy or Keene on the 53;

Please not Ty Montgomery... The dude sucks now.

Thanksdad AND Yesir C'mon in Durant?!? Not only No, but **** NO... NO NO NO NO NO... I'd keep ANY two of Lazar's 4 cuts ahead of these two NON-NFL ****ing stiffs... And what the ****'s the deal with Hines & Steuber? Were these two already damaged goods before they were even drafted? Very frustrating.

I feel sorry for Barmore & Guy... All The Others = Useless, Over-Paid Trash.

...and for Judon too.

Finally, what's the financial advantage to releasing Nick Folk in particular during Cut-Down Day? They're obviously going to re-sign him before Week 1; so...?

Allows them to fit someone else on initial 53, after which he gets signed to PS, like last year. Same for Folk. I think he's cutting guys that he believes can clear waivers and make it to PS.

What I like is cutting all the deadweight: Asiasi, Keene, Harry, Tavai, Slowjuan, Bryant.

the two that come to mind are Isaiah Wynn and Braxton Berrios (while later cut by us, has been somewhat successful for the jete)
