I just can’t see Nordin making it through the season on the PS. One injury to a kicker across the league and he’s gone. I would hate to see him have a terrific career somewhere else.

Just to be clear: you can't "claim" a player off a PS.

If you sign them to your active 53 man roster you can. Unless that has recently changed. Hints the “one injury to a kicker across the league” part. It would be very rare for Nordin to choose to stay on our PS vs signing to a another teams active roster. The money alone. I guess maybe they could give him a really good PS salary

not sure if teams get a chance to sign them to their own 53 man rosters before. If so, I wouldn’t be as concerned.

update. I guess there’s some new practice squad rules that were implemented in 2020, that I didn’t know about.

• NEW: Teams can now protect up to four practice squad players from being poached from Tuesday through Sunday.
• NEW: Up to two practice squad players can be elevated to the roster — expanding it from 53 to 55 players — each week. These promoted players can then be sent back down to the practice squad without having to go through the waiver process ... but only twice per player. They’ll have to go through the waiver process if they’re sent back down a third time.

• Tough to cut Hoyer but roster spots are at a serious premium. Lots of hard cuts, I'll get into them later. I do think Hoyer is safe to cut and re-sign later, though.
• If I had to pick someone to cut for a different player to include, Bolden would be on the shortlist, but I really don't like the idea of cutting him.
• I read that Wilkerson and Zuber somewhat redeemed themselves last night, but I still wouldn't use that alone as justification for a roster spot. Harry's not that good, but I'd still rather take him over the other options at this point. I also think Gunner is safe.
• I also read that Asiasi finally did stuff against the Giants. Finally, I can exclude LaCosse.
• I can't believe that I'm actually including Ferentz on a 53 projection and not hating it. He's improved immensely and earned a spot. Cajuste vs Herron is something I'm much less sure about, though.
• Welp, was already wrong about Murray. Thought he was slowly but surely earning a role on special teams. Maybe he will later in the season after some more time on the PS. Guess that means Anderson makes it after all, because I don't see Spence or Adams making it.
• No real thoughts on the edge position except that I think it's going to be a lot more fun to watch than in the (semi)recent past.
• Keeping just 3 linebackers seems absolutely insane, but Langi and Jennings kinda suck. We'll probably see lots of Dugger and Phillips filling in at ILB. It's questionable to even count Van Noy in this position because he plays so much edge, but then we would only have 2...
• I don't see why Wade deserves a roster spot but I doubt we give up that kind of capital just to cut him. If Gilmore doesn't start the year on PUP (please), I have no idea who gets cut for him. Maybe JoeJuan or Bryant.
• Speaking of Bryant, how do you guys feel about him vs D'Angelo Ross? Ross wasn't on my radar at all, but I saw quite a few posts about last night's game praising him and suggesting he might actually have a role. I can't say because I didn't get a chance to watch the game.
• If you want to keep Nordin, you're pretty much saying you want to lose a few games on purpose.

However, I have no strong feeling on the bottom 3 roster spots. I suspect that others are in the same boat.
To put it another way, I'd like to see these 50 on the roster tomorrow and for a couple of weeks. If I look at this 50 man roster through a Belichick lens, I see the need to add the following by Game One: 1 WR, 1-2 STers, 0-1 LB's.
