OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

AB probably freeked out when he saw Bell catch a TD pass from Brady. Looooser.

That's like some other poster I like here saying Jack Nicklaus is the best and it's not even close. Just an obviously correct statement.

Fixed.

Where's Mac10 at...guess he only comes here when the Bucs lose or there's chaos(AB)

He noted that Grayson did his hammy in the other game thread pretty much happened so he must have been watching the Tampa game

Lol…dude, why?

AB was right...Tom can't do it alone...(Ab probably thinks he made Bell)

Haha sorry.

People do use "it's not even close" way too often, and in cases where it actually is close. Probably what I should have said in the Jack/Tiger discussion was that "the answer to the question is clear to me", although obviously the achievements of both of them are close. I loved watching Tiger play for all those years; his peak was just off the charts.

But I do think with Gronk, it is one of those few times where you can say "it isn't close" despite that phrase being so overused. And that's simply because there really is no other tight end in history who has been as dominant in both passing game and as a blocker, and then add to that four championships and almost all the postseason records. The longevity angle is dissolving too; he's approaching 10,000 yards and 100 TDs. I'd say Gonzalez is a very distant second...his blocking wasn't near as maultng as Gronk's blocking, even if you could make a case Gonzalez overall was as effective as a receiver.

Bobby Orr comes to mind as one of the ofew others you could just put in a complete outlier category...a defenseman who also is the best offensive threat in the league. Just insane...never replicated by anyone else, and not even close.

We aren’t Bucs fans. Making the playoffs isn’t an achievement
Anybody that follows Brady, it's SB or bust. Been there 10 out of the previous 19 seasons as a starter. Can he make it 11 out of 20?

Rodgers have been there 1 out of 13.
Brees only once himself.

It would be hilarious if Brady can pass them both in only his 2nd year in the NFC.

It's intriguing to see if Rodgers can tie Brady for NFC Championship celebrations at Lambeau Field. Brady currently leads 1-0. In fairness, Rodgers is tied with Brady for total NFC Championships, 1-1.

Antonio Brown what an idiot. All world talent obviously has some mental issues. But there is no way in the world he wouldn’t have got all his incentives in the last two weeks.

brady and Bruce looking after all the major cogs

Unfortunately for most people, at the end of the day, what will stand out the most are the stats, then the awards and championships. I've never seen Gonzalez play but I see the stats and it is impressive.

Gronk has the awards and the championships, but he's still working on the stats. We know he is the GOAT tight end, but he needs to play 2 more good years to get the stats in the same ballpark to convince others that he is undeniably better than Gonzalez.

lmao Rams/Cards got the Monday Night game. If the 49ers smack down the Cowboys which seems probable then the Bucs get the winner on short rest.

It's always good to have possible debates and I think this one is a debate but there isn't a fair observer anywhere that would have gronk outside the top 2. His clutch moments make him 1 in my eyes and he made the most of his opportunities.

Gronk has a highlight reel that’s frankly only comparable to someone like Bo Jackson.

What I have been enjoying are the weekly historic records that are being Broken. At the franchise level, personal level, and the NFL level.

I'll never understand why Bill moved on from Brady. I don't care how many reasons people try to tell me it'll never make any sense. The guy just put up his best back-to-back seasons at ages 43 and 44 and we just let him go for pennies on the dollar.
