DRAFT BGC 2021 Pre-Draft/Patriot-Type Prospect(s) thread

@BaconGrundleCandy - Do you think that Meinerz will sneak into day 2 or is he a solid early Day 3 guy because of playing D3?

Do you think he'd be a good replacement for Andrews?

This in fun to watch. Some 1vs 1 reps from the Senior Bowl O-Line vs D-Line/Edge
David Moore is fun to watch. Hard to overpower him.
Leatherwood needs some foot work/quickness if he wants to play LT. Roche did beat him with speed. Once the hands are on him roche has a tough job
Marvin Wilson has no pass rush plan whatsoever to me.
Deonte Brown and Trey Smith struggle with speed rushers. Royce Newman looked better in pass pro here, but of course he is lighter
Tuipulotu doesn't look impressive in 1vs 1 against Jack Anderson, idk looks like a 2 down DT based on that.

Moore gained quite a hype after these 1v1, later had a bad game both @ C & G (on a bad white OL costing white QBs some $).
Interesting to see what the scouts make out of this..

here a few thoughts on Wilson (wo 2020 film after his 2nd leg injury) - could be typical BB buy low pick if he indeed stays as low as 3rd

Does Antwan Simmons have the coverage ability to line up opposite TEs, but also be on the inside for stopping the run?
Honestly don't think so. He's small man, with little length. So anything in terms man of trying to run with someone next level will be tough. Can he cover ground, take up lanes, take up space, pursuit... Maybe I think so in some cases. He's got an uphill battle but is a football 100% Made some really nice plays against UI & PSU.

Truthfully I need to watch more of Meinerz for a real opinion but would say he's right there around top 4-6 C. I say C bc it looks like he has nice size & length/paws. Might be more coveted there?

I think Lance and Lawrence have the strongest arms. Wilson and Fields have a nice blend of arm talent. If you notice Wilson needs a few good hops to get that 60+. Lancr & Lawrence are almost still.

Have we not taken a QB in the first round since Bledsoe?

Absolutely! I'm sold. He just needs to work out the other side of his body as well ...
Yeah, I would be happy if we select him with our 3rd. pick. He can give us much needed IOL Backup at C and G and looks stronger than Ferentz for example. I would like to see some strength at the C Position. He might can be a future starter but needs technique work as others here mentioned before

Holy HELL that #26 is fast.. He was 12-13 yards behind Davis when Davis made the interception. He could have EASILY passed Davis but slowed up to make sure the opposing player trailing Davis couldn't make a play.. Any information on #26?

Don't replace Andrews, get a decent backup
Yes. Replace Andrews. Preferably with Thuney, but Meinerz looks like he could be a dominant guy at center with the potential ability to stonewall big NTs single-handedly. Something Andrews can't do.

I had hope for him before the season and was excited to see how his pass rush would develop.
He can be definitely an Upgrade for our early down defense with potential to grow. Can give us some much needed beef upfront but 2020 season tbh was a disapointment on passing downs. Some sources said they view him only as a two down NT/ heavy 3 tech but who knows. Still has room to grow
