DRAFT BGC 2021 Pre-Draft/Patriot-Type Prospect(s) thread

I'm addition to playing WR Eskridge has also played out wide (122), box (24), DL (3), FS (2) and been on ST handling returns/KO. Have to think he'll test well if he has his finger in that many pies.

Very interesting. I hate mocks and don't usually start looking at them until just before April but this is interesting.
Sewell, Fields, Lance lasting until/past 10. Draft never plays out how you think. We'll have a few good options at 15 or with a small trade up.

OSU QB’s?

OSU QB’s?
Doesn't really bother me. I don't worry about USC QB's or WR's. I just take it case by case, prospect by prospect.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on these WRs: Brown from UNC, and Roberson from Wake Forest. I haven't seen them highly rated anywhere, but their stats are certainly intriguing. Roberson in particular seems to have had a dominant season despite only playing a few games.

Dyami Brown - legit deep threat with real game speed and + tracking ability. His speed is there from 1st to 4th quarter. Some power in those strides and Will switch up his stride length and tempo to set up defenders and capitalize on his 2nd gear. Really gets the most out of his double moves bc of this. He times up his stutter steps on doubles almost perfectly so everything is in concert coming out of those breaks. He works off the vertical stuff, maintaining eyes down field to set comebacks/curls. Again pretty efficient coming out of those breaks.

R/r is crafty, makes it his own. Not the best long speed but still burning guys every week bc his ability to get off the line, tempo, footwork, eye-head/shoulder fakes and his acceleration. Puts it all together frequently and is a real threat on go routes, fades-comebacks-curls, post ... Has the ability to take a screen for some yards.

Smooth, fluid player with the ball in his hands. Possesses good burst, balance and vision. Potential for yac is there on certain routes. Him and Howell had PA ringing together, lots of chemistry there.

Very quick off the line. Feet & hands work together at times. Various releases but it's his burst, tight/compact frame, efficient feet that win. Has won and had some success against press bc he gets even smaller than normal and is a blur.

Good hands could improve but not freaking out over a few drops when it comes to big play guys.

Arguably the best deep threat in college over the last two years. 20+ per rec over the last two year with 2K+ yards and 20 TD.

Considered a 4 star prospect coming oit of high school including RB & CB.

I like him as a value pick. The later the better but I think he can help right away. If you're picking him on day 2 obviously have a good plan bc he does need a fit. QB, scheme, targets etc Needs a QB that likes to go deep, needs a target and a scheme to marry it together. I like him as third option, real rotation piece.

Roberson is one of the more improved players from last year but mainly just getting a shot with more targets open. Mainly operating from the slot, motion, back field. Some manipulated touches. Some option/leverage routes in the flat or MOF. Elusive, tough with decent balance but is a small dude around 6'/185. Nice body control & hand-eye coordination. You can tell his mind was going 100mph this year. Feet almost moving before he caught the ball. You could tell he was happy with the increased workload.

Anybody have any detailed insight on Houston WR Marquez Stevenson? Kid’s got some wheels, but how’s his route running, separation, awareness etc?

Arm Talent = Accuracy - pretty straightforward. Touch - is the change up, the off speed, feathering a pass, Placement - is putting it on someone's lead shoulder or low if a defender is coming in high, Velocity - again pretty straightforward.

Wasn't always a 4.4 guy. In fact he worked his butt off big-time! Came into college running 4.7+. Tore his ACL & had other injuries. Tough kid to come back.

Lots of help in terms of rr though. Wasn't asked to win off release, stem, top. Really get the ball in his hands and go. Wasn't creating separation by himself. Good at what he did but not sure he could truly utilize his speed next level. Too much sloppy stuff when he was asked to run something where he was coming out of his breaks and winning. Or again at the top of his route.

Some potential but very raw.

Thanks as always @BaconGrundleCandy. It’s amazing how you’re able to delve into the intricacies of each respective player.

Now...Challenge: What’s my scouting report??

Mac Jones. His strengths are similar to Brady’s. Need a QB who can throw longer than 10 yards

If Fields is still available at #15, then I'm trading down so some sucker team can draft him.

Do your job kinda poster. Don't get a lot of lip or ass-shaking, just goes out and contributes. Veteran you don't have do worry about going off the rails or starting attention threads.

This is an interesting decision though. Fields falling to 15 would shock me. You'd think someone would jump up ahead of us but who knows?
