Yeah, the thing I always notice about Andy is he doesn't seem to make the glaring, big mistakes in games (Greenbay and Indy come to mind this postseason as their coaches really let them down, I'll also throw an all-time bad Pete Carrol in the Super Bowl) but I give Andy credit as he doesn't seem to have those moments.
Disagree that Pete made a mistake. Seattle had to pass on one of their remaining downs. They only had one timeout.

Lady in front of me got $87.87. We looked at each other and laughed. She said she was already planning to put on her Gronk jersey when she got home. Bucs by a million.

Been studying the changing climate in Antarctica for last 14mo. Get me up to speed. Anything interesting happen in NFL ?

I'm a Chiefs fan. But I can't put Reid on Belichick's level. Even with a win tonight. It's going to take alot more than two titles. Alot more.

I'm prepared to say Mahomes has surpassed Big Ben & Brees with a win tonight. If he hasn't already.
First of all, welcome to the Board. We have a history of welcoming thoughtful and polite posters from other teams' fan bases.

Agree re Reid and BB. BB also did it early in his career, first with Parcells and then on his own with Brady 20 years ago (he also did a better job with the Browns than he gets credit for). Belichick was 48 when he won his first SB as an HC and his sixth when he was 65. Reid is 62. So not likely he'll be in that discussion. That said, every true Football fan was happy for Andy Reid when he finally got the big prize. And you can make a reasonable argument that BB and TB kept him from getting it a little earlier. :)

As for Ben and Brees. I'm a big fan of Brees, not so much of Ben because of his off field stuff.

But, my personal feelings aside, there is something to be said for doing it year in and year out over a couple of decades. Brees has put up awesome numbers, surpassed only by Brady...but has only one ring. Ben has two rings and has been a force for a long time.

I'd be willing to say that there is very little doubt that, after a few additional productive seasons, even without another ring, Mahomes will surpass both of them. I just put a lot of value on consistency over time with a changing cast of players (Mahomes' contract has been very cap friendly).

Mahomes turf toe expected to have surgery after the SB. Could be a big deal with the speed of Tampas defense he won't be able to get his crucial 1st down runs

I'll go back further...I'm a young one...had to research..

Do you think the 98 Vikings beat Denver in the SB? They were loaded.

That's hard to say. It certainly would have been closer than the Broncos/Falcons game was. Both of those teams were fantastic. It would have been one of the most loaded super bowls talent wise of all time. I think think Denver would have won, but it would have been a 3 point game. You kind of got me here. I never considered if the 98 Vikings deserve to be up there with other loaded teams. I don't think they do, but they aren't far behind the likes of the 2007 Patriots. But they had some of the same issues. One of the main ones being a team built so much around Moss who was just a bit of a 1 trick pony. Get some good DBs that understand how to play him and don't get beat over the top and suddenly the offense you've used effectively most of the season has serious issues.

I understand longevity. But when at their best, Mahomes is ahead of the other two. But I do see your point.

oh, they're assholes too, so don't feel singled out....

The Saints fans aren't bad. At least not to us. But if you put them around a rival team, they certainly can be a bit heavy handed.

Yawn. Check back with us in 15 years or so.
Ha. No need, because it’s not possible. Even if they, or someone else were to win 4-6 SBs, it can’t be done in the fashion in which we did it. I don’t even have to elaborate...

No.

The Elway team was elite and the 98 Vikes actually lost 3 defensive starters in the NFCCG vs the Falcons.

They would have lost. TD would have run wild.
Was that the Donks team that was later fined picks by the league for salary cap cheating that produced a Lombardi?

Yep. They REALLY cheated.

The first punishment, a $968,000 fine and the forfeiture of a third-round pick, came in December 2001, due to $29 million in deferred payments to quarterback John Elway and running back Terrell Davis. The second punishment, a $950,00 fine and another lost third-round pick, for cap violations that occurred between 1996 and 1998. The Broncos won the Super Bowl at the end of the 1997 and 1998 seasons.

Yeah he's incredible but let's see how he does without Kelce and Hill. So far I will concede his start of his career has been the best. But it's the NFL anything can happen

We won't see what he can do without Kelce & Hill until a few more years. Both are locked up long term.

Though they were without Hill for a few games last year. And Mahomes excelled.

No, but I think they would've given the Broncos some trouble. Vikings were loaded on offense and the Broncos had an aging on D. However, the Broncos were a bad a** team by '98 and nobody was going to beat them.

Falcons had no business being in the Super Bowl. They were a "feel good" story doing their "dirty bird" dance, but only Atlanta fans wanted to see them win.

They had plenty of time to do either, but were clearly worried the Pats O would get the ball back with time left to try a field goal. The Pats D was gassed and the Seahawks just stood around and gave the Pats a much needed rest. Although I would've rather had them run the ball first, I had no problem with the play. However, Wilson didn't make the best throw and the WR was too soft boxing out Butler. Had Wilson put the ball out just a tad further or the WR been more aggressive, game's over. Malcom's preparation and outmuscling the WR won them the game. Seahawks just choked.

Kelce turns 32 next Oct. What he does w/o him will be interesting.
