Brady recently filed for a bunch of trademarks, including “Tom Terrific.” Mets fans say it belongs to Tom Seaver, who never filed for a trademark. They are pretty pi$$ed lol. Check out some of their comments...

Tom Seaver was my first “favorite” baseball player (I was born in NJ before moving to NE). So Seaver will always be “Tom Terrific” to me. What Brady is doing is not wrong, but seems kinda uncool. On the other hand, the peak of Seaver’s career was over 40 years ago.

Tuesday’s Mashup: Mets fans, Art Shamsky plan ‘Boston T.B. Party’ to protest Tom Brady’s Tom Terrific trademark

Mets fans have spoken out against Tom Brady trying to trademark Tom Seaver’s “Tom Terrific” nickname and now they are taking it a step further.

The fans are planning a Boston T.B. Party protest at Upper East Side restaurant Sojourn on Tuesday at 5 p.m. where they will dump Brady jerseys and memorabilia into buckets of beans.

Not sure it's a great idea image wise from Brady's "brain trust," but it makes sense from a marketing perspective given Trademark laws.

I doubt it's aimed at Seaver, but rather at some other "lesser Tom," who might try to knock the name off. Put it this way, if someone ran a a one-off ad using "Tom Terrific" in relation to Seaver, I doubt you'll hear a peep out of Brady's lawyers.

Honestly, I don’t know any Pats fan who calls him “Tom Terrific.” I prefer to call him the GOAT.

Tom Terriffic was something of an early dynasty thing, during Dynasty Phase 1 when he wasn't the GOAT yet. Not surprising we don't remember the iconic nickname these days, he kind of outgrew it when the Brady vs Montana debates started. By Dynasty Phase 2 he was The GOAT and no other nickname was necessary.

Just for chitz & giggles I wore my TB Tee to my gym today and put Terrific by BRADY, and also I'm a Phillies fan since '76 Mike Schmidt along with Grogan & Pats so Met Fans were doubly "Terrific" to me.

It’s just weird. Brady is an excellent football player who has brought so much joy and winning to NE. But sometimes he does weird things (Tony Robbins, Photos with a goat, Carnaval dancing, trademarking Tom Terrific...).

What's wrong with Tony Robbins? The dude is nothing but a positive person with practical advice on how to be successful...complete with examples.

Photos with a goat? That was a photo shoot...not like Tommy asked for a goat...his teammates ribbed him for that, BTW.

Carnival dancing....what's wrong with that? When in Rome....(shrugs)...

And IMO it was "his people" who trademarked Tom Terrific not Brady. IMO, Brady has no time for that crap...he's only worried about preparing for the season and spending time with his kids.
