Everyone wants Tom to retire with a super bowl win.

I don’t

Vinny Testaverde started some games for the Panthers at 44 I believe

He'll be offered that. But I don't see him signing it.

Hence my belief that it's the final run for those three, as far as playing together.

What a perfect way to go out if Gronk were to win the superbowl MVP...

I vividly remember Joe Montana, a shell of himself, sitting on a bench with some obviously killer back pain, in a Chiefs uniform while someone else is under center and even though I was young I remember thinking it wasn't a very fitting way to go out.

I don't want Brady to quit ever, but I'd much rather he go out with some sort of storybook ending than stick around trying to make it work and getting traded or cut or benched.
Not me. I want him to go out scratching and clawing for every last bit of ability in him. Just the way he played his whole career.

I'm saying he's going to be 33 next year. Nice straw man though. No one claimed he would be a shell of himself. I'm claiming he will start to decline next year cause that is what 33 year old WRs traditionally do. I'm not saying he will be a shell. I'm saying he will start to decline.

Just like every player does eventually.
So, you're speaking for everyone who has suggested he's in decline and all of those people's opinions are the same as yours? You're quite a talented fella!

I want two more years, through the 2020 season.

Then the collective bargaining agreement expires and I expect a lengthy lockout and a shortened or cancelled 2021 season. I don't see the usual player cave-in to ownership demands this time.

It would be a good time to retire, before all of that happens.

He should do what Kobe did. Let everyone know in advance.

Couldn’t disagree more, and that’s as unlikely as it gets. Brady isn’t an attention whore, when he does hang them up he will do it in such a way as to not detract from the team or franchise in any way.

Sounds good on paper but seeing my hero shown the door because he doesn't realize it's time to hang them up is the worst way to see him go.

I honestly don't know how I'll handle it if they trade or cut him. I'll never stop being a Pats fan but man...I might be super unhappy for a few decades.

Want to see Tom around to see what can happen in Sony’s 2nd and 3rd years in the league. With a little retooling on offense, and balance similar to what we’ve seen recently, they can continue to be in great position.

I keep seeing this storyline from the media that if we win, Brady should retire and ride into the sunset. My question is, why? He hasn’t slowed down all that much, arm strength is not an issue and he’s still clutch. He still seems to enjoy playing the game so why would he retire if he’s still playing championship Calibur football? It worked out well for manning because he was a shell of himself due to his neck surgery but TB ages like a fine wine. He’s said he wants to play until he’s 45 and I really hope that’s what ends up happening.
First of all, let's win number 6.

Then after that, I want him to keep going. He is still a Super Bowl leading QB (hopefully with 6 wins) and we have 12 draft pics I keep hearing?

Let's reload, retool, send out the GOAT, and get 7, 8 and maybe even nine.

I am all for Brady retiring after he wins Super Bowl LXXV

I agree Brady has nothing left to prove but there is simply no way he would leave Kraft in the lurch after the Jimmy G trade
he will have led the Pats to 2 SB appearances and 1 vistory if he wins SB 53 and retires AFTER Jimmy is gone.

That is likely 1 more SB Ring than Jimmy G will get in total. I really don't think it would be him leaving Kraft in the lurch.

That said I think he plays until 45 and hopefully gets us to 7.

When you think about our high draft picks coming up. This is really the most vulnerable our team will be in the next few years. Reinforcements from IR, maybe flash comes back, the draft, I see us contending for championships.
I loved Gordon, but we can't risk him coming back.

It's like no one has learned a damn thing after watching Brady accomplish all that he has so far...Brady knows what best for Brady.

This makes 2 very dishonest replies to my post. Care to try for a 3rd?

I want the Patriots to absolutely demolish the next 3 drafts, wind up with stud DEs, stud offensive weapons, Wynn and Dawson become beasts, and Brady leads a ground and pound defensive ultimate dynasty to finish up with 10 rings and 5 in a row. Then he and Belichick call it a career.

Yeah, here's a lead pipe cinch honest one: you're a whining baby. My original post wasn't even a reply to you, or anyone else for that matter. Go back and check it. GFY;)...
