McDaniels Gone After Season?

Again with the McDaniels speculation...
It's a bye week. In other news...

I don't follow the Packers or McCarthy, but McCarthy's team has won their division 6 out of 12 times, posted winning seasons 9-10 times, and a got super bowl ring. Maybe there is good reason to fire him, but that record alone would probably make him a top five coach in the league.
What have you done for me lately? Roger's and McCarthy are fueling. Guess which guy wins?

GB is for sure a real historic organisation

I hope he will stay in NE of course but i would not blaim too if he should accept an eventual Packers offer

But i still hope he has a long future in Foxboro

If McDaniels doesn't take either the Green Bay or Cleveland job for 2019, he will remain in NE for the rest of his coaching career. Being a native of NE Ohio, the Cleveland job may be more to his liking. He was the first choice of the Browns back when they eventually hired Jackson and he gave the idea some serious thought then. Chaos in the front office and a serious lack of talented players were both definite turnoffs. Now that they have a little more talent, a solid GM and a young QB to build the franchise around, he may be more interested.

Didn't we go through this last season ending? Why again this season ending? He has an agreement with BB and Kraft.
There can be no binding agreement with Kraft to be the eventual HC, because that would violate the Rooney Rule.
And I believe NFL rules say that an assistant's contract cannot block the assistant from taking an HC job.

Could be a wink wink nod nod agreement sure

Be care

Be careful what you wish :)
Just connecting potential dots.
Id would hurt to lose someone we think highly enough to make head coach.
But I'm done worrying about it.
If they persue McDaniels and he turns them down which could happen doubt it but could we know he is the future guy here.

Good lord this McDaniels thing is getting old. Every year, he’s gone. He’s not gone. Figure it out Josh....

He’s gotta take that job if it’s offered. Green Bay needs to completely re do their offense. Their play calling sucks.

"The rule does not apply if an assistant coach has language in his contract guaranteeing him the head coaching job in case of an opening.[13] For example, this was the case when Mike Martz took over as head coach of the St. Louis Rams before the 2000 season"

So Mcdaniels could contractually be the next head coach your saying and its not being disclosed.

Contract gate?

I might take some heat for this post but I ma going to write it anyways...

Josh runs hot and cold as an offensive coordinator. Will he do the same as a head coach?

And let's not forget that he was involved in actually taping other team's practices as a head coach.

I hope so. I think he’s a great guy and obviously a smart, dedicated coach. I also think he’s astronomically overrated. Anyone coaching Brady, Manning, Rodgers, or Brees is supposedly a genius. I’ve always hated his red zone play calling.

Wasn’t Adam Gase a genius too? And Josh the first time around going to Denver and St. Louis? Another guy who is lifted up into reversed territory because of TB12 and Belichick.

I'd take Gase I like him if Miami ever parts with him I'd take him as a HC.
I also like Carmicheal in New Orleans.

I would think J.Mac signed his lucrative deal with intent to stay majority yrs of his contract. RK sweetened his deal by making him highest paid Coach (HC excluded). Couple of scenarios are he's here to be successor to BB or here for duration of TB's tenure and both can be considered. But of course any of this can change if some team comes in and gives him full reigns and its a deal that's too good to be true and it probably would be.

FWIW, clauses that prevent a coordinator from taking a HC job are unenforceable. It doesn't matter if roster control is involved.
