Pretty much. Brown is a one year transplant to ease the transition of Wynn into the LT position until further notice. Though I’d love it if Wynn could step up there this year and the team could move Brown back to RT. That would give them two excellent bookend tackles. It all depends on where Wynn is at, though.
That is correct. If Trent Brown is close to his presence in SF before his injury he is gone next year. Offensive linemen are paid very well recently.

I can already smell the "Brown is a disappointment" postings. But maybe instead of looking at it from the negative angle maybe lets look at it from the other perspective where having someone like Brown coming off the bench is good sign in terms of overall level of play at their position.

Also, that being said.. the camp is not even a week old yet. Lets see where things shake out 2-3 preseason games in.

Or from the angle that who is playing with what unit at this point is usually not very relevant.

I think this offense will be the best in the league.

After the GOAT, you are set at WR with some great slot possession guys Edelman and Matthews who has nice size. Britt and Dorset are capable backup options. Then on the outside you have Patterson and Hogan two big men with speed. Tight End all pro Gronkowski and Allen as an extra blocker. At RB you added elite athleticism in Michel to go with 3rd down guys burkhead and white. On the O Line, you added a beast LT in brown who may be better than soldier. You got pro bowler Cannon on the right side. Shaq Mason is developing into a pro bowl guard. Andrews is dependable at center. Then at the other guard spot you got stud rookie Wynn or Thuney. Plenty of depth

No weaknesses

The D is the biggest question mark... can they step up? Can the scheme step up?

I don’t have to watch another season of garbage QBs putting up career best performances against this patriots D

Well if someone with the big hit/miss record of opinions of Captain Stone criticizes someone like Chatham who at the very least can at least back everything up he is saying with sound reasoning and not just stupid gut feeling or ******ed contrarionism then the entire thing becomes just absurdly funny.

I would love to see how Chatham takes trolls like him apart within a minute and exposes their general lack of football iq.

I like Chatham, I listen to his podcast. But he’s off comparing the situations to Collins and Jones.

Interestingly, Brown turned 25 this year on April 13th - one day after Solder turned 30.

IDK. The Pats may be a bit more inclined to offer a long-term, relatively hefty contract to an improving 25-year-old than to any 30-year-old.

Well, the relevant question is why. Is Brown currently behind Guy on the depth chart because Guy is playing really well, or Brown isn’t playing at the top level the team hoped?

Regardless, he is being judged as a 1st round pick and the hope with any of them is that they wouldn’t be in the 2nd grouping to start training camp in year 4. Doesn’t mean he can’t still help the team, just means he’s not the star player we hope for as a 1st rounder. As a 1st rounder he’s not the bust that Easley was, but he falls into the next tier of Maroney, Meriweather and Watson. Useful but not stars, and guys who never got a 2nd contract here.

The choice may be Brown or Mason, with Wynn sliding into the open spot. Or neither if the market is as ridiculous as we expect. But first things first, let’s see if Brown’s first few days in camp translate in games.....

I hope so. However there will be a lot of bodies to feed in 2019 including Mason,Flowers and Shelton. I doubt it but maybe in some way Brown will convince BB to invest him as our future Olineman.

I suspect that there may be some re-shuffling among the interior tandems as Camp progresses, so that all the guys get a chance to work with each other, and so that the coaches get to see how each tandem clicks (or doesn't), and what pairings are most suitable for what types of situations.

Remember, Reiss wrote "often", not "always".

JMAC might be the surprise cut this year...
Although I’m not as high on Rowe as many others, I agree with you that McC isn’t a lock to make the team like all of the chatter suggested for the past several months. That said, it’s early yet, and he does have experience. Time will tell whether Belichick goes with a younger, cheaper player or not.
