J. Kraft: Jones told us to "take your medicine"

How many SBs have the Cowboys won this century?

BTW, how did Jerruh do keeping Jimmy Johnson? How did that end?

Do you think Jerruh would EVER have been able to keep Belichick for 18 years?

Honest answer, Tony: Would you rather have Jerry Jones or Bob Kraft as your team's owner?

.

That's easy. Bob Kraft over anyone present, past or future. I've stated as much many times but that doesn't mean he wasn't weak during both scandals because he was and he knows it.

Why is it wrong to enjoy watching Jerruh ripping at Goodell publicly and wishing Kraft had done something similar?

Actually Kraft's main issue was that he would talk tough and then backtrack, talk tough and give a hug, talk tough and then praise Roger for doing a great job. His actions did not back up his talking. That's weak.

You fail to understand that that very personality weakness (and I agree with you to a point regarding the Deflategate capitulation - particularly about the post decision chumminess with Goodell) is ALSO a strength in keeping Belichick for 18 years straight and swallowing his pride to keep the team in Massachusettts. No other owner alive could do either of those things ego-wise. BB wouldn't last 1.5 years with "fightin' man" Jerruh Jones.

Adding it all up - - I'll take Bob Kraft warts and all. Greatest owner outside of Walter Brown in the history of Boston/New England.

I sure as hell enjoy watching Jones go at Goodell. But he is a crap owner. He has $hat on his fans. There is nothing that makes him a more desirable situation to a fan than Bob Kraft.

33-8 today with tens of thousands of mexican fans showering adulation on our players as they exited the field.

33-9 tonight as Jerry's World emptied out early.

This dichotomy has played out regularly for over a decade and a half.

AHah, Jerrys Jones team getting destroyed tonight made my night!
Karma is a ******..Hope he goes through this every year after the way he led the witch hunt against the Pats.

I agree Tony, however, it's gotta be taken for the whole picture doesn't it? Kraft's decisions to be about the 32 isn't endearing, however, first and most important he leaves football to BB. Whatever Kraft has done he has made BB happy and content to stay with the Patriots. Based on how BB operates I'm assuming BB would eventually walk if the Krafts caused him any issues (walk away and get a massive contract with numerous other suitors). That's gotta count for something that he has kept BB happy and stayed out of his clubhouse?

Agree completely. I've never said Kraft was a bad owner. I've said he's HOF worth and has been one of the best owners in league history.

But I also think he was incredibly weak during both scandals. He should have stood his ground but instead he praises the Fraud.

I really do not understand the defense of Kraft's actions during both gates. I could post his actions chronologically but I assume it's well known especially within this forum.

It would look something like this:

"We will not accept the penalty"

(Insert link to the wells report in context here)

"We will accept the penalty"

"We do not agree with the penalty"

(Insert photo of Roger/Kraft Hug here)

"Roger is doing a great job"

(Insert Roger sitting next to Kraft here)

And he's still supporting Rogah..

I don't hate Kraft. I think he's a great owner. I'm glad he's has done what he has. I think he's a decent guy. I also think he was ridiculously F'ing weak through both scandals and watched while his GOAT QB was getting fraudulently penalized.

They took two first round picks and a fourth for what?

Agreed he was weak on "Spygate" and less so but still weak on "Defaltegate". But we are better off, overall, with BK than JJ.

It truly cracks me up that @Tony2046 cannot see the irony of the first sentence of his previous post: "So Jerruh is a ****ty GM. BB is the GOAT GM. No new news there. "

Ummm, Tony, choosing the GM is an ownership decision.......and that "****ty GM" has been allowed by the owner to keep being the GM for HOW MANY years now?

Again with this all or nothing macro perspective argument of yours.

It has nothing to do with Jerruh vs Kraft as owners etc.. Kraft acted hypocritically weak during both scandals but especially during deflategate. Watching Jerruh attack Roger is great and I hope he goes full Nuclear on his ass but that doesn't mean I wish Kraft would use the Nuke option. What I do wish is that Kraft didn't back track on his initial stance which was finalized with a hug.

By the way, please tell me what actions Jerry has taken to back up his tough talk on this?

.

Whatever Jerry does will not erase Kraft's weakness during deflategate.

I hope Jerry creates havoc within the NFL and hopefully gets the Fraud removed or as a token screws with his new deal. But what I hope Jerry does or doesn't do has nothing to do with Kraft.

Your argument or your questioning insinuates that I would have to choose Jerry over Kraft as an owner in order to wish that Kraft had handled the scandals differently. It's not an either or discussion.

"Watching Jerruh attack Roger is great"

Two thumbs up for that. To see Goodell rewarded in a way that will make him the highest paid sports employee in probably the world? Appalling...

Got it. Thank you for the clarification that you would choose "Old Yeller" (your term) over Jerry Jones as an owner overall.

But I still would like to know from you and the others who espouse that Jerry is handling this any better than Kraft handled Deflategate, exactly WHAT concrete actions Jerry has taken.

I see nothing but a befuddled old man belching and shaking his fists at the sky.

Tough to judge how Jerry has handled something that has just gotten started and hopefully will explode over the next few weeks.

But if Jerry goes after the Fraud and then two weeks from now gives him a hug while praising the great job he's doing it still won't make Kraft look any better in my mind rather that both of them are weak.

We don' know what went on behind closed doors, we're just not privy to that information so I hate to bag on RK not knowing all the info.

But you knew that I would choose "Old Yeller" (my term) over Jerruh. I said as much in the last Kraft vs Jerruh thread.

....or that they are owners of businesses and you are just a fan.

To keep the train running. He didn’t want to derail it. And in the end, from his perspective, he was probably right.

So are you saying they could have taken more than a two firsts and a fourth and suspend the GOAT for four games?

Not much worse than that.

I do understand what you're driving at but I think he needed to put up more than a whimper of a fight to make a point. What he did during Spygate did not prevent anything and what he did during Deflategate didn't prevent any future stupidity either.

People are saying Kraft acted weak and I disagree. He put himself in an impossible position. From the little I hear, he goes around and tell other owners to drop their protest and accept stupid penalties for the "good" of the league. He has created the monster that Goodell seems to have become. So it was all about saving face and maintaining his leadership role in his owners club.
