Looks like Mitchell won't be ready for Week 1

let the Austin Carr era begin......he's got a head start by being here for the offseason

veterans have proven to rarely just show up and be effective with brady

I really hope Mitchell can get and stay healthy, because he was terrific for a rookie in this system, and was super clutch in the Super Bowl.

Look for a monster year from Mitchell, with all the attention Gronk and Cooks are going to get, Mitchell is going to be YUGE!!!

If fact, I'm predicting monster years for all the Malcoms, Butler & Brown too!

I think the Pats should sign every Malcom they can possible get there hands on!

This sort of reminds me of the Tyms era or the Thompson era.

Best news I have heard in a while heading into Wk 1. If MM stays healthy..I expect good tbinhs to happen. I will really miss seeing the JE11 warrior but it is what it is

@Brady_to_Moss

Does it still look like he won't be ready for week 1?

Ask Reiss?....you act like I am the one who reported this. I just posted on here what he said. But I am glad you love my opinion so much. I am flattered. Anything else just ask bud!

I will never understand what the patriots draft scouts saw in Dobson over Keenan Allen. I mean, Allen was an absolute monster in college. He catches anything and everything and is an amazing route runner, he plays a style perfect for brady. Yes I know he has a poor attitude, but who cares. The guy balled! I watched him yesterday in the preseason, he's damm near uncoverable. Oh well. If he stays healthy this season, look for him to catch 120 balls

When they drafted Dobson, I thought the talk was all about he never had a dropped pass at Marshall. Seeing him in the NFL, I just can't believe that was true!

FWIW I don't think anybody questioned Allen's talent at draft time, but he was a considered a massive injury risk, was rehabbing a PCL tear and ran a 4.71 40, and reportedly failed a combine drug test. (Otherwise he wouldn't have lasted to the Patriots' pick to begin with!)

I always draft Allen in FF.....and he always gets hurt when I do...Now I won't draft him this year and watch...monster year

Well, he's a zippy little birdlike receiver, ain't he?

...

No thanks.

This sort of reminds me of the Tyms era or the Thompson era.

The major difference being Thompkins was asked to be a starter, while Austin Carr would be inactive.

The Patriots have two elite receivers, one who's the greatest tight end to ever play, three running backs who are superior receivers out of the backfield, and two other receivers who were good enough to play major roles in the Super Bowl with the game on the line and pull through (in two Super Bowls in one case), and a second tight end who has been a major red zone threat on playoff teams.

We're upset (understandably!) because now we don't have three elite receivers this year. In some years we didn't have any.

Amusingly, your synopsis doesn't even include Hogan, who appears primed for a leap from last year.

Even without Edelman, this team is stacked.

Reiss hasn't been afraid to speculate all summer how he wonders if the Pats would make the same decision not to put him on PUP.

As we know, it's nothing more than speculation, which he's actually been very up front about. Great to see Malcolm back at practice. Hopefully, he doesn't have any setbacks and contributes nicely.
