Goodell was in Gillette tonight, three Pats "fans" pose for pic with him

Seems like they were blindsided and had no intention to "pose" for anything. The NFL PR folks just grabbed some passers-by and counted on their basic courtesy instincts to kick in long enough to snap a quick photo.
Actually I will go one step further in speculation.

In the photo two are looking in one direction, the other and Roger are looking in another direction. I'm thinking that somebody was taking a picture (girlfriend, for example) and then (perhaps) unexpectedly another person (NFL PR guy) stepped up and suddenly took a photo as well.

Just like that what started as a benign private photo op went viral.

Pure speculation of course, but it is a possibility.

I wonder if they were asked to agree to have the photo posted by the NFL? If not, can they sue for having their photo used for commercial purposes (NFL PR)?

Honestly, that Turtleboy Website guy is
Outing these three lads online is so wrong. Yet so richly deserved. I say we nuke them from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

No, it's not deserved. That website outing these guys' names (and one or two of their girlfiends) is completely wrong and out of bounds. We can all joke about it, but it's not like they committed a crime - - the only criminal was the guy in the middle of the pic with the red hair. He's the Symbionese Liberation Army. The 3 poor schlubs were just Patty Hearst.

We won the Superbowl, many around need to chill.
I'm no fan of Goddell, but seriously wow there's a ton of hate out there. We won the trophy so who cares.....we won the deflategate nonsense.

Now.....if this was a fake pic and the fans were paid for it, then it just makes the NFL look worse than it already does. which would actually be pretty funny.

Tom Brady lost 4 games and took a huge hit to his reputation over this, and the NFL openly lied in an effort to harm one of its own teams. There are many who care, as a result, and who don't think the Patriots winning changes, or even mitigates, what the league did.

And those 3 clowns gave the NFL's ringleader a gloss of legitimacy by posing with him.

There's a point where you have to draw the line between football and life.

I don't hate those bozos and wish their names were never released.

Goodell on the other hand is in a much different category.
I totally agree with you on this, but in all seriousness...what the phuck were these 3 toolbags thinking? I get it. Definitely not what I would do. Having a picture with the commish on your phone to show your friends and family is one thing, but to post it on social media was not the best idea.

This just proves my long standing theory:

The patrons at Gillette preseason games are the equivalent of the patrons at a bar on New Years Eve. Amateurs!

Any person that has a spec of actual passion for this team would have at the very least walked away. Personally I would have told him that he's losing the long term real NFL fan base by being an out of touch, corrupt piece of ****.

I believe the PR Guy was on the grassy knoll.....;)

They didn't post it on social media - - the NFL did.

What baffles me the most about this photo is that (And I'm assuming, which is dangerous but what the hey) these guys are probably in their mid-late 20s or early 30s. So they have probably grown up in the technology age.

I think the excuse of "Well they probably didn't know who he was" is too easy. With Google at everyone's fingertips in this day and age, for you not to have a clue on who he is either means you are the world's busiest person or you don't own a phone which I'm guessing these guys don't fall into that.

That being said I bet they wanted to post this photo to their social media accounts and post a caption like "Hey look who I/WE saw at the Stadium today!! :);):p:D" like all good (idiotic) millennials do. Which would be even worse. But they were beat out by the NFL PR guy.

So either way, they still deserve crap. But not in the "let's find these guys and do something" way.
I pretty much agree with what you say, but I do think it's possible that not everybody who follows football would recognize the Commissioner of the NFL. I live in NYC and am constantly amazed at the high profile folks who walk down the street or sit in restaurants unnoticed by most people.

But, on the assumption that they did recognize Clowndell, yes I agree with you that they deserve crap and being called out for their bad judgment...but, as you said, not threats.

It was the PR Guy from the grassy knoll....

Patriots fan pictured with Goodell: “I really don’t care for him”

I'm pretty sure that voluntarily posing with a public figure in a public place would reasonably be regarded as an act that forfeits any right to an expectation of privacy.

I'm in NY now as well, and you and I know...it operates on a much different plane than Boston (goes without saying). God himself could come down in his white robe with a halo shining his way and no-one in the city would care or notice. Everyone is just trying to get to where they want to go. But if you are REALLY observant then you'll probably notice someone of stature.

At the very least, if they didn't know who he was, there had to be someone else around to ask. I mean it is Pats country where 97% know the goings-on of the last 2 years. Heh, if @Joker was there I'm sure he would have been more tham happy to escort himself and them to him (with a baseball bat!)

At least you get that. So many of the fan base don't even care or understand that. It's going to be sickening when everyone cheers Kraft coming out with the Lombardi like they did in the 15 opener.

You have so much ill will towards Kraft that you wouldn't at least cheer the accomplishment that is represented by the trophy?

The "they didn't know who he was narrative" doesn't hold any water because you'd have to believe three knuckleheads were walking around, saw a guy they didn't know in a suit and were like "Hey, bruh! Let's take a pic with that guy in the suit ovah theah".

Do you remember when Kraft came out though in the 2015 opener? It was the biggest cheer of all when the Lombardi's came out. That's messed up man!

When I watched the Ninkovich and Wilfork retirement press conferences, I skipped past the part where Kraft was talking. I don't even want to hear anything he has to say. I try to limit as much as I hear from his mouth.

My ill will is pretty similar with all 32 owners and the NYJFL* office. I hate them all. They should all be imprisoned.

Someone needs to do the right thing in putting a stop to this potential Goodell curse. I demand someone steps up with a middle finger pose next to Goodell by the beginning of week 1. Otherwise..if this season somehow turns south, these three clowns are to blame.

Jerry Thornton on Barstool has now written an incredibly creepy article about this "situation"

So I for one am doubling down. Bisson isn’t ashamed, but he should be. As should the other Judases, Spencer Shea and John Miller, all of Concord, NH. When Paris was liberated, they took all the women who banged Nazis, shaved their heads and stripped them naked. These guys deserve to at least have their Brady, Malcolm Mitchell and Color Rush jerseys stripped off and shunned by society forever. They can say they were used, but you can’t use the willing.

Barstool Sports

You know you're out of line when the Barstool comment section even thinks so.

I don't specifically recall him getting the biggest cheer but I imagine it was because he was holding the most recent trophy.

I guess one of the guys called into one of the sports radio shows between 12 and 1pm. I just caught the tail end of the call, and all got from the hosts were that they were kind of duped into taking the pic and had no idea of how it would be used, and that he was kind of passed the Goodell hatred. I did not hear the call until the very end.

Meanwhile the hosts and I haven't any idea who, were all about the "we won, lets get past it" narrative, so I immediately turned it off

My initial reaction when I saw the pics where to tar and feather all 3 of them. My CONTINUED hatred of Goodell and his actions are well known. That being said, I truly hope that nothing even mildly negative happen to these kids. (OK maybe a day or two of discomfort), but nothing really hateful. Just because you don't think like me or Joker doesn't make you a bad person (just a short sighted one. ;) ).

It will be a bad reflection of we as Pats fans to roast them (after tomorrow) for this obvious error in judgement that I'm sure they now regret.
