Do Patriot fans have less loyalty to Tom Brady than Browns fans did to Bernie Kosar

I didn't read all 26 pages of this thread, so I may be repeating something someone else has already said. Out here in NE Ohio, Bernie Kosar was a God. He was the last good QB the Browns have really had. When BB took over the team, Bernie was near the end of his career but was still putting up fairly good stats. BB cut Kosar and started a guy whose name I can't even remember any more. It was also right around the time that the Browns owner, Art Modell, was secretly planning to move the team to Baltimore. Those were dark days for Browns fans. The only parallel I can see between Kosar and Brady is the idea that BB may cut or trade Brady before he is ready to hang up his cleats. BB was ultimately right about Kosar because he really never made any contributions to the teams he played for after leaving Cleveland. The one big difference between the two QB's is that Kosar was big and slow and stayed in the pocket all the time. As a result, he took a lot of punishing hits which contributed to his relatively short career. While he is not a scrambler, Brady is much more mobile in the pocket and, as a result, has avoided most serious injuries. With proper protection and good skill players, I feel Brady could be effective for another 2-3 years, at the most, although age can sometimes creep up quickly on a pro football player.

When the Celtics were no longer World Champions did they shove Bird, McHale, or Parish out the door? Nah, they kept them around and suffered decades of misfortune. Just sayin....

They kept them around long enough that Greg Kite became the most effective big man against the Lakers in the playoffs. That's a long time.

Which one of those players had an all-world, one of their best seasons in 1991?

My previous post was about 1987, the year after arguably the "greatest team ever."

I think Brady is the best football player ever, however, this guy is undefeated.

Yup there's that ridiculous cliché again. I've already address why it is silly but you must have missed that post, so I will restate:

Nobody is saying Tom Brady will never retire. Yes, "Father Time" will eventually have his way. But we are trying to chart the course for the next few years and Father Time has been beaten many, many times by athletes in their early to mid 40's.

He's undefeated. It's just a silly joke. I don't take anything in this thread seriously.

Father Time is not undefeated. He eventually wins but he loses many time along the way such as Tom Brady 2016.

You don't understand what undefeated means.

For my post, it means someone will never die. You're predicting Brady will never die? Do you watch many Bergman movies?

If you watched the seventh seal, you'd know that the hero, who plays chess against death, "accidentally" knocks the pieces off the board to buy time for the young couple and baby[religious symbolism] to pass safely.

Death can be delayed, but not defeated.

So obviously you don't know what undefeated means. Did Father Time beat Brady last year? End of story.

How to prolong a thread: 101

Lesson 1: Splitting hairs.

"You don't know what undefeated means"

WTF??

Lesson 2: Splitting atoms is easier than not splitting hairs in this thread.

Watch....

Yeah, this is getting pathetic at this point. Probably just best to let this bad boy die in embarrassment.

So the patriots should get rid of Brady while he is still playing at a high level because someday he will die?

Since this thread popped up once again, I will throw my worthless opinion in here: I have loyalty to the team more than any player, and I trust BB to make good decisions for the team. It would suck to lose Brady, but I decided years ago that it is a mistake to lose sleep over Patriots personnel decisions before they are made. Once they are made I am often very sad about them (e.g., Wilfork, Mankins, even Revis), but I never presume to know more than Belichick.

Sometimes I still enter the debate, say, about people like Butler. But largely I wait until there is real news to be consumed rather than speculation.

I will say I would be shocked if Brady retired as anything but a Patriot! When Brady's abilities decay with age, he will still be better than the majority of NFL QBs. But he will not be OK with that, and will likely make the decision to retire while still in the top 10 in the league.

It's far from a worthless opinion. Much of it is spot on, at least in terms of the way I also think about it. But, mine is also just an opinion.
