Why do you think we let Mallett throw at the Arkansas Pro Day?

Seems odd to me that BB would want him to do that. Not an injury risk or anything. He gets enough practice with us doesn't he? But, he's surely not trying to get Mallett's input on some of his former wr's. Who are good prospects such as; Joe Adams, Jarius Wright and Greg Childs. Did he want to showcase Mallett to other teams in case he wants to deal him? I'm probably reading too much into it. Just struck me as odd.

Why would he possibly not want him to?

Could they even stop him if they wanted to?

Injury risk is minimal. But, Arkansas has a elite qb prospect for next year. Tyler Wilson. Would think they let him throw. I never heard of any of our other qb's doing this.

Maybe because Arkansas/the receivers asked Mallett to throw for them at the pro day?

IIRC, I believe that Sanchez went back to USC last yr or the yr before to throw to their pro day WR's.

Why would they ask him to do that?

Guy on a different board mentioned to me that current players aren't allowed to do positional drills with scouts on the field. Sounds like a favor to their wr corps in order to help make them look good.

LOL..

Before the days of the infamous Barkley.

I believe it was either last yr or the yr before.

Then again, he may have just been practicing or something too. I really didn't view it as much of an issue at the time, nor do I now.

He has nothing else to do?

I'm guessing he got a bigger thrill going back to his alma mater where everyone loves him and throwing to his old college teammates than he did getting limited snaps (if any) in practice with the starters and then not suiting up every Sunday in Foxboro.

NFL players practice with each other all the time in the off-season.

Hell, even Favre went back to his old high school to get some throws in.

I doubt Belichick could care less, but I guess you never know.

Love the fact that Joe Adams can't figure out how to run a 40, even though he is clearly the fastest player on almost any field. He would instantly improve our return game, provide Welker insurance, and provide some versatility outside at the same time.

One report had Adams at 4.55 on his pro day. This one had him at 4.46 and 4.47. I wouldn't be against drafting a bigger wr in the first two rounds. Then, Adams at 94.

Because we are drafting Wright

You think Adams is going to last that long?

Yeah, lack of size and sub 4.4 speed will push him down a little. I like to put a horizontal board together. In the process of doing so. Here's my 1st 3 round wr's.

1st
Blackmon, Floyd, Jeffrey,k. Wright

I'm assuming good 40 times for Jeffrey and Wright.

2nd
M. Sanu, S. Hill, R. Randle and Marvin Jones

3RD
McNutt, Streeter, Quick, Givens, Dw Jones and J. Wright

There are a ton of wr's this year. Some others who can play are; J. Adams, N. Toon, J. Criner, R. Broyles, A J Jenkins.

I will wager that Broyles is a Patriot come May 1st. He just strikes me as the Deion Branch type. Also, he is currently injured, and we all know how they love to buy that devalued draft stock. They'll draft one of the bigger guys, too. I'm rooting for Jeffery...at the moment.
