...which means either the QB or the coaching staff do not view him as a viable playmaker.

That is not true, we may never know, but I think this is what Josh was telling Brady and Brady blew up on him. I mean look at this, if you throw an int on such a play why should someone not call you on it? Look at Dorsett on the left on the 10 yard line. He can build a baseball field. It is just sad that we are going to say he has been a failure when he is not getting the ball. Does he drop passes? There are other examples I will dig up where Brady threw risky balls that were not intercepted but Dorsett was wide open.

We have multiple rewatch threads on archive where people are claiming Dorsett is open in his routes and finishes them. Not sure you really need to dig through tape to make a point.

I need to come in there then. I am really a GDT guy, I love the anguish people express in the first 5 mins in the first quarter. I don't really know why it exasperate some of the mods and the best posters here. It is the best free comedy you can get. I need to explore this forum more.

I think the team values Dorsett and Allen a lot more than this board, probably because a lot of the value they're bringing doesn't show up in a statline.

I'm not saying that either of the two are awesome but I don't think they're out there getting snaps simply because the team couldn't find a better option in FA despite them both sucking as much as a lot of posters suggest...

This whole anti Dorsett and Allen thing reminds a bit of how people tend to undervalue ST guys and want King, Bolden & co. cut whenever a preseason binkie like Carr becomes a numbers casualty.

People should stop thinking that depth roster spots are given out by potential or skill. It is about the roles you can dependably fill.

King and Bolden are my personal litmus tests for whether or not the person posting about them gets how this team assigns value to players.

I'd like to see Allen and Dorsett get more looks but every time they are on my screen they are working their asses off and not causing Interceptions which is why I prefer both of them to Britt, if someone has to get cut.

I was thinking the same thing during the game. And Poyer made a great play just sitting at sticks depth on 3rd & 7.

It wasnt until I read about his post game comments in the press conference:

And Chatham mentioned it as well on his podcast that from the sound of it Brady might have expected Britt to do something else (e.g. sit or continue on).

Ok, I understand your point.
Great catch. I was about to add that to my answer to @TomPatriot when I just saw it on Twitter.

Here is a bit more context:

I still disagree. He threw it to a spot where Poyer was. Poyer knew the ball was going there before Brady released the ball. That’s a bad throw however it is spun. It’s a bang, bang play and it happens. Maybe Reiss and the other guy can tell us the playcall, what Britt did wrong and how that route is supposed to be run. I’m not seeing it.

Perfect. Same with Edelman before he broke out in 2013.

I remember the play well.

It could be a combination of the coaching staff OR Brady not believing Dorsett to be a viable playmaker in this offense.

Like you I'm sure Josh crawled up TB12s butt to tell him to look at Dorsett. We know what Tom's reaction was to that request. What we don't know (later in a much more subdued diologue) is Tom's reasoning why he didn't throw to him. Progression? Confidence? Just plain 'ole screwed up?

I'm not sure this graphic changes my view of why Dorsett isn't more productive?

back to practice then .. Tom's back! (of course)

Its a pity if Gilly is not available for this game . perfect one for him & to relieve Lew w Rex out.

spent time with BB? I thought the two did not get along like buddy buddies. I guess their relationship is that of a coach and a player.

...and that Titans organization was another train wreck while he was there.

Rams ran the ball very well in 2014 and 2015 when he was there.

2016 was a train wreck.

What I do know is the NEP signed him b/c they thought he could help them as a downfield blocker in the run game. I suspect if they felt he sucked at it, he would not be with the team.

I thought Britt might be especially helpful on outside runs, sweeps and screens. Edelman, Hogan and Mitchell had all been pretty good on that sort of play in the past, though Edelman tended to draw extra defensive personnel toward the screen, much as Gronk would.

Screens are where Dorsett could be helpful, especially if he's not drawing extra defensive attention - and if he has a capable "partner" on a backside screen side - say Dorsett as the "X" (on a DB) and Britt as the "Y" (chipping the OLB for a pulling guard before moving further into the second level).

Anyway, this is what concerns me most about Hogan's shoulder - how much it might inhibit his blocking. He certainly seemed to be in extreme pain when trying to block in the Miami loss.

It is written right there in the tweet. Reiss and the other guy are thinking Brady assumed that Britt's incut would continue on but he drifted farther up. If he doesnt take those few steps towards sticks depth there is no route to jump for Poyer.

Again I am just taking the press conference, what ex players said and now also what Reiss is speculating about into account here.

The point is not that Britt ****ed it up but that the two of them might have been on a different page about the exact route. Which is not shocking after being here for only so long.

We'll know a bit about what BB thinks on Sunday. I would not be surprised to see MM take snaps from Britt.

Brady is the Goat. I don't have any stupid argument in my head about that. I am not criticizing Brady, I am just pointing out facts.

Lets play where is waldo. I mean Dorsett is so open, I think even you may find it hard to find him. This is what Josh was saying to Brady and he got all pissy.
Is something wrong with the insert img on this forum?

To be fair to Brady on this one, the guy he went to, Cooks was open too, the reason why it wasn't completed was Brady thought Cooks was gonna sit and threw it to a spot but Cooks kept running and then tried to come back.

Dorsett as well.

The thing here is that MM knows all the routes. He (theoretically) can take snaps away from Cooks, DA and depending on his health, Hogan.

This is all dependent on the flow of the game of course.
