They love loading Eye-In and Fouts on us toward the end of every season.

I say jeet and you are correct to reference it rhyming with sheet, a la "The Jete played like sheet." If you say jet-ay, the French connotation makes it sound kind of classy, yet we all know there is nothing classy about the Jete.
I go with 'jetty' as it's the diminutive of 'jet', they can't even live up to their dumb ass name.

Does somebody own a tie-breaker over us if the Chiefs/Chargers both lose? Confused too.

OTOH, while possible, it doesn't seem probable.

AFAIK, no team owns a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Pat that will be useful in playoff seedings.

The Steelers own a head-to head, but they can't get to 10 wins, much less 11.

The Titans own a head-to-head, but they can't win their division, so it's also irrelevant.

While I agree Sony Michel has been great this season I'm not a fan of cherry picking stats. Alonso can't just prorate Sony Michel's stats. He has to do it for other RB's who have played a significant amount of games this season but not the full amount. Sony ends up somewhere in the top 10(7-10?) which is still a really good season.

Still a productive season regardless. I’m just happy with that.

Lester says,

"Best, lest we doth not jest nor rest on our laurels, to at Coach Belichick's behest we pass this test with great zest to nest and quash our guest pests, the Jets, in our quest for the great fest at Mercedes-Benz venue to the south and west of us in Atlanta this February, despite the vile vests Kraft forces us to don on our chests."

I guess but, other than ballet enthusiasts, no one knows what a "jete" is. Jest is a bit more catchy. Just one man's opinion.
NFL fans know. Ballet enthusiasts pronounce it "jet-ay," our version is "jeet" plus we capitalize it as a proper noun -- there's no confusing the two. Besides, "Jest" sounds too much like Jets. They deserve being identified as the New Jersey Jete.

Pete says:

"Lets just beat the sheet out of the Jete so we can meet and defeat the next deadbeat in the divisional round and greet our next victim with a cleat to the face even if it's in the heat of San Diego and accomplish the feat of making our eleventh Super Bowl and repeat as AFC Champs."

the pronunciation of Jete has been a movable feast, or at least was in the beginning.

It's also tied to one blip in the history of JEST suckage. Recentism at its worst. At most, "Jete" merits a mention now and then among the usual JEST usage. That's extended here to about 50/50. But making an argument for exclusive use of JETE to the disadvantage of JEST disregards decades of hapless fans literally making a joke out of their own team name with signs, their green-painted torsos, etc.

I had no idea somebody specific was "the guy" that introduced "JETE" as the new "JEST," but you're mad with interweb power here.

Ok now I am just in auto-critic mode, but with all those words rhyming with Pete, you might want to avoid using "Champs" as the last word in the string what w/the ESPN Crycast* history and all

*With the proliferation of league-related lawsuits, Crycast has recently been replaced by TortCenter.

Not a tiebreaker (11-5 vs 10-6), but with a winTexans would be #1 seed if Pats, KC & Chargers all lose.

Titans would win a 10-6 tiebreaker for #2 seed if Tenn wins, and Pats, Texans and Ravens all lose. One of KC/LAC would be #1, the other AFCW team #5.

Obligatory Week 17 Playoff Picture Thread

10-5 New England Patriots (home vs 4-11 Jest)
Can be #1, #2, #3 or #4 seed; have clinched AFC East
- #1 seed with win, plus Chiefs lose, plus Chargers lose
- #2 seed with win, plus Chiefs lose, plus Chargers win
- #2 seed with win, plus Chiefs win, plus Chargers lose
- #2 seed with win, plus Chiefs win, plus Chargers win
- #2 seed if Pats tie Jets, plus Texans lose or tie Jaguars
- #2 seed with loss, Ravens loss, Texans loss, and Titans loss
- #3 seed with loss, Ravens loss, Texans loss, and Titans win
- #3 seed with loss, Ravens loss, and Texans win
- #4 seed with loss, Ravens win, and Texans win
- #4 seed with loss, Ravens win, Texans loss, and Titans win

Other potential number one seeds:

11-4 Kansas City Chiefs (home vs 3-11 Raiders)
Can be #1, #2, #3 or #5 seed; have clinched a playoff spot
- #1 seed with win vs Raiders
- #1 seed if Chargers, Texans and Patriots all lose

11-4 Los Angeles Chargers (at 6-8 Broncos)
Can only be either the #1 seed or the #5 seed
