Rob Parker has long ago found out that "hot takes" get you air time. You don't have to be right. You just have to say it. Eventually you will get one right and you get to have about 2 years before you need to get another one right.

Gary Tanguay is the local Rob Parker, who was a inch away from being fired, before he went the "hot take" route. Now he's ubiquitous on the airwaves and a major player on CSN, while guys like Matt Chatham have to beg for air time. Felger is a bit more subtle. He uses the "contrarian hot take" strategy, and he's on the radio or TV ALL the time. Felger is more successful at that than most because he doesn't take himself as seriously as his other "hot take" brethren. His self deprecating style evidently makes his "hot takes" more palatable.

This is what our society has denigrated to, "hot takes" and reality shows. That is what passes as a celebrity these days. ;(

LOL, agreed. I've posted here before about the inferiority complex NY fans and media have about Boston teams. They're obsessed. While it was the Celtics and Red Auerbach who originally sewed the seeds, it was the Red Sox who really got it going. As much as many here get their panties in a bunch about the Red Sox, it really got going in October of 2004. It manifests itself more with the Patriots and their dominence than our other teams, but it began then. Anyhow, I love it all.

I like to use the analogy that the Patriots = US.

Anything positive/ amazing/ admirable/ impressive is quickly glossed over. Anything negative/ degrading/ controversial is automatically amplified and obviously true.

The Patriots, like America, may not be perfect, but overall they're the best and everyone knows it. This is why both are under constant attack of lies, controversy and plots to bring them down.

Honestly I think the really sad/funny thing is it was probably more reasonable to state Brady will never reach another Super Bowl in Aug 2012 than it would be to state Brady will never reach another Super Bowl in Aug 2017.
