Depth can be gotten in multiple ways, though. Elite players are difficult to get unless you draft them.

You can draft an elite player in the 6th round.

Kansas City just took Poe from Memphis --- I am slightly surprised as Poe is a projection player, not on measurables or position change, but on willingness to play every down. And if Pioli follows BB's drafting philosophy, the first round should be for guys who have minimal projection/very high floors.
