Teddy Bridgewater to the Broncos .... clearing the path for a NE QB?

The only sure result of the Bridgewater trade is that the 49ers are now aware that “suitors” for “Jimmy G” are now down to ONE and oh yeah, that a 2nd round draft pick is now clearly off the table. It’s pick #96 which at least covers the 3rd round pick cost for who’s behind Door #3 or “fold ‘em & hold ‘em” and explain again why you are paying $20 mil for your soon to be backup QB snd the bargain price of $6 mil for your soon to be starter - who by the way also just cost you an additional 2 future #1 picks! OUCH!

Carolina needs a tackle in the baddest way possible so look for them to get Sewell, Darishaw, or Slater.

Denver needs a LB badly, so Micah Parsons would be my best guess. Also, a tackle is a good possibility.

Patriots could not give a 6th round pick for Bridgewater?
Even more evidence they are moving up for a qb.
The only value Newton has is as a placeholder while the rookie is learning he won’t take much coaching attention because he knows the system.
need to get a new starter ready takes away from the coaching resources for the rookie.

Either that, or a NFL front office with much better draft position than we have looked at who was likely to be available at QB and decided going with place holders like Lock or Bridgewater was the best course of action.

They picked up a fully guaranteed $18 million option. Think again.
No, they have not. See my post earlier in this thread.

eh......it's a good time to wait others out......

Jimmy G could be had for a late day 3 pick......his deal is almost all cap savings the moment they dump him and an easy deal to redo.......in fact, the Pats free agency behavior points a finger at something like this more than any notion that the Pats are pursuing someone in the draft

We have bigger plans than Teddy.
Is Cam our better backup? a 5th for Bridgewater improves the team. We still had the option to trade for Jimmy or move up

The Panthers gave up a 2nd, 4th, and 6th rounder for him...that's not something you give away for a bridge QB or backup.
Well, this year's 6th, next year's 2nd and 4th, in a year where QBs are being highly valued.

Mo Sanu fetched our current year 2nd at the trade deadline.

Could very well be that both teams are over-spending for a position of need.

I now agree.

I didn't know that the option had been picked up.
It hasn't.

So, you want us to sign Bridgewater and have Cam and Stidham on the team as well, in addition to drafting one of the top 5 qb's or did you want us to sign Bridgwater instead of Cam? If that is the case, not sure if he was available when we signed Cam...as Reiss, Kyed and Lazur have said, it was important to have a veteran qb signed before the free agent period to entice free agents coming here.

The option has not been picked up, as of now.

Both Denver and Carolina still have easy paths to set their QB rooms should they choose to draft a QB.

They could have traded for Bridgewater and cut Cam..huge upgrade

Keep in mind the year before they took a huge cap hit for cutting Cam too.

Feels like it resets the market at QB a little bit. SF can't can't be asking for a 1st rounder for Jimmy when Bridgewater only cost a 6th PLUS a significant contract restructure with a huge cap hit reduction for the receiving team.

Watch them not get Bridgewater for a 6th and blow multiple high picks for a QB bust. Just like our OC did for Tim Tebow. This stadd doesn't know how to evaluate QBs WRs CBs.

Caserio is gone and based on Kraft's scolding BB on the recent draft, my guess is that the Caserio/McDaniels formula for college player evaluations has been discarded as well. Eliot Wolf (and Matt Patricia) have been brought in to be voices with a different perspective.

Can we please have a 72 hour moratorium on the incessant repetition of your least favorite person on earth?
