Look at what Jerry Rice did with QBs who weren't Montana and Young.

What a story for Sam Darnold. This is an example of why top prospects coming out for the draft need to be more selective on which teams to play for. However, they don't pay attention to the details like we do so Darnold was probably obviously to the Jets dysfunction and who the HC was. I blame many of these QB's Agents for this.

And just how can players be more selective coming out of the draft, other than sitting out their rookie year?

They are under immense pressure to improve the team. Fortunately the most important piece on the roster is set. Now we just need to add difference makers

Your right. I think Minnesota tries to hold on to darnold if they can.. I don't think they feel he's a franchise QB but he's someone that can play at a high level. However Jefferson, Addison, hockinson, and the brilliance of Kevin O'connell help him drastically.

Yes, there were TWO things that needed to set before difference makers can actually make a difference. QB was one. OT is the second. Sure, we'd like to have two all-pros. We will be very lucky to get two at average healthy starters and a couple of players with top potential (think 2nd and 4th round like last year).

Yes agree. We need to find that Matt light type steady good to great OT. They gave a lowe a chance and it hasn't worked out. He's at best a backup-PS type player. He's not a starter in the NFL. Probablem is we likely have to find that guy in the draft and develop him. All the other good OTs will likely be extended by thier own teams. Drake has been the most impressive to me rookie QB as he literally has nothing to work with. We are fortunate to have Drake! I'm thinking at least 2 WRs Higgins and possibly adams? Also heard kirk may be available as well. On defense address the DL, DT spots and LBs. Chase young, koonce, edge players like that. Chavaious ward at CB across from gonzo.

Hard disagree.

Put Bourne and Douglas on the Vikings and they would improve as much as KJ Osborn deteriorated coming from the Vikes to Foxboro.

Vikings have an OL that’s enough better than the Pats’ dumpster fire that their QB, be it Cousins or Darnold, can use the running game and take time to make good throws.

Darnold's Pocket Time this year is 2.7 seconds. That's tops in the league with Hurts.

Interesting that despite the high pocket time (btw snap and throwing the ball or pocket collapse), pressure rate for Darnold is a fairly high 25.6%. Maye's only at 18.3% and 2.4s PktTime.

Jacoby "throw his OL or WRs under the bus" Brissett really had an excuse: 2.4s PktTime but 33.3% Pressure rate. Man that sucks. Glad Maye didn't have to endure those OL gelling growing pains.... as much. This is all from NFL reference, and there's still some subjectivity that goes on.
