Schefter: Martellus Bennett wants to return to NE

Talk about being tough up front...the Bennetts get it.

I really don't see this happening. He'd want a lot of money, for one thing. If Gronk's sticking around (I think he is), the Pats should go get Jesse James in FA (won't be too expensive), then draft someone in the early rounds.

Love Marty Bennett, but he'll be 32 Sunday, hasn't played in a year-and-a-half, and that after being mushed up for much of 2016 and 2017.

Camp prove-it, no risk deal? Sure. But I just don't see it.

I like Bennett, Amendola, but the team needs youth.

I think they’re trying to avoid the mistakes of 2007-09 when they may have moved on a little too quickly from some productive vets. This isn’t like baseball where these younger guys need a few years to grow. The draft in 2010 proved that. I expect them to just look a year or two ahead. Better one year early, but if they’re still getting good value then go for it.

has he played for the Ratbirds? No?...I'm good

Love Martellus but he’s toast.

Yea 1.5 years off is tough to come back from. Who knows what kind of shape he is in.

Lol...the McCourty brothers appear to be the most straight edge, stand up guys on the planet. I just see those two playing Scrabble in nursing homes in their free time.
...and Mike and Marty are joining the Black Pistons MC

They need to young at TE for Gronk’s departure. This is the class to do it. I understand why Martellus wants to return but I don’t want them going old this offseason. Micheal was good pick up, leave it at that.

Couldn't agree more. Bill will always prefer youth over age unless hes run out of options.

I can see Marty being a camp invite if they strike out in the draft looking for a TE.

After being IRd in 2017 and out of football last year if hes expecting buku bucks hes smoking a blunt

“Jerko?” Watch the language friend, this is a family message board.

Seriously man, how did that make it past the fascist filters when we've got guys resorting to "smuck" just to get a point across

He’s burning one either way, as am I. I honestly don’t think he would make this team, and wouldn’t want to deal with that.

Why can’t you have Gronk, Martellus, and a rookie TE?
