For me it starts with talent on the field and with only 49 players currently signed and 87M in cap space and I think they will upgrade in a lot of areas. Kubiak has a very good offensive system and is a good play caller and play designer, I think Andrew Janoko is a very good coach and his experience with Kubiak will ensure they are on the same page when it comes to working with Mendoza (who will be an upgrade to Geno).

I don't know much about the new DC but honestly it couldn't be much worse for the Raiders. The offense will be vastly improved, but that does not mean a worst to first season.
Totally get where you're going.. the thing is being a good player caller is a far different story than being the HC.. Josh McDaniels who is a brilliant Offensive mind had multiple cracks at HC and fizzled out.. they will likely have a rookie QB and all new coaching staff this will all take time to materiize. They have the best TE in the league in Bowers and some jeanty at RB.. will FAs be knocking down the door to go there? Crosby wants out he's arguably thier best player.. they will have to overpay like we had in FA..

Also we stifled kubiaks offense and erased his best player in JSN.. defenses will copy that game plan if kubiak runs that same offense in LV..

Again.. not definitely saying kubiak won't be successful but the likelihood with all the factors mentioned make it a fair probability.

A good defense will give a good offense problems, but I think that offense will be able to beat up on bad teams. Much like ours this season.

They also brought in Mike McCoy who has experience as a head coach, while he was not successfully, that experience should help the path. Its a good point about being a play caller being a different story than HC and I agree which is why I pointed out Janoko being able to work with the offense while Kubiak and McCoy can divert their attention to the entire team. I think that McD tried to do too much in Denver and Oakland.

Very interesting points.. for example we saw 3 well 4 top defenses en route to our superbowl run... that along with a full regular season of film aids a defense tremendously.. we had the same advantages again Seattle.. Seattle's offense was solid all season.. janoko will likely be able to add his own flavor to the offense.. I know whatever they do.. they will likely have a good offense.
