I'm expecting them to draft a LB early (1st/2nd) to pair with and eventually replace Spillane.

I wouldn't rule out Diggs returning on a 1 year deal. He could find out his value in the open market isn't anywhere near the 27 million the Patriots would have had to pay him, That would be putting a band aid on the position, but it's more likely they just draft a WR Day 2.

I think a Diggs return is very unlikely. The 27M wasn't his 2026 salary. It was his total 2026 cap hit. His SALARY was 20.6M with another 1.7M in game day bonuses and 200K in workout bonuses. The other 4M was signing bonus proration.

The Pats are on the hook for 1.7M to Diggs that was guaranteed. That's why the current cap hit for Diggs is 9.7M. 8M in SB proration the 1.7M in guaranteed money. The Pats COULD get some of that 1.7M credited to 2027 if Diggs signs elsewhere.

I would think Diggs and Doubs are kinda the same type of player. I loved watching Diggs last year and he was a good leader in the locker room. His nonsense outside the locker room was getting dicey. Vrabel can’t preach having good team players when one of your stars is jeopardizing team unity with his numerous distractions.
It would be advantageous to Diggs and the team to say he would not restructure. Team because of his fondness on the team. Diggs because he does not have to say he was dumped. What I am getting to is he may of been dumped with a wink wink nod nod to help him get some looks in FA

Only a fool just looks at sacks and not pressures as a whole.




In 5 seasons prior to the Pats, he played 1852 snaps in 72 games. That's 25.7 snaps per game. Not 18.

Math isn't your forte, Andy. Neither is understanding football.

It could be Huck. As I said he is kinda a redundant type of player as Diggs. They would have had to be in communication with Diggs so as to not lose out on this years current WR crop. Since they needed to fill Digg’s spot with either having Digg’s back or go and get a similar type of player that Digg’s played in the offense last season. Since they signed Doubs I would tend to assume Digg’s is a goner. Appropriating over 30 million for the same type of player to 2 players is bad business. Neither would be able to be used to their full advantage with only one ball on the field.

I'm just guessing but I think Hendrickson wants more like 30+ for no less than 3 years.

I think that's what I believe I heard I think he is looking at maybe 33-35 and might have got 23-25 max.

But with injury no way will I guarantee more than 15 million and that too a year.

My guess is he is looking at 3/ 105/65 kinda thing.

No way will I guarantee him anything beyond a year . People have been burnt by bosa and von miller contracts . Nobody is going to pay more like that .
