OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

PFT is obsessed with this.

Today’s initial injury report for Bucs and Panthers has 15 names for Tampa Bay.

Bernard is eligible to come off injured reserve this week, but I didn't see him, and Bucs haven't posted notice that he's been designated to return. Arians had said he had fingers crossed he could be back this week, but that might just be general optimism.

Of the newly injured Bucs running backs, Ke’Shawn Vaughn (ribs) was at practice today, but did not see Ronald Jones (ankle).

Bucs announce that punter Bradley Pinion is back off the reserve/COVID-19 list -- all clear there now for the team -- and guard Aaron Stinnie is back at practice and eligible to return from injured reserve in the next 21 days.

If this is more or less how it went down (AB hesitant to play on his sprained ankle which kept him out of practice all week), then the coaches, especially Arians, went about this HORRIBLY by saying "no, too bad, go in the game or get out". Obviously, Brown's reaction is unwarranted as a response, but why are you pressing and pushing the buttons of such an emotional player? Especially handling a player like that whose talent you'll basically be screwed without barring some major miracles from Brady. It's not like they would've expected such an outburst, but pushing him to play in the second last regular season game instead of keeping him healthier for the playoffs -- is absolutely stupid. They basically gaslit Antonio Brown, their best WR albeit with some temper & anger issues. Why the HELL would you do that?!

Arians is a dumbass that’s why

This thread has grown 7 pages since last night and I’m bout to catch I ****ing swear if of this **** if trolling and y’all responding to that clown Mack than I’m swinging

I believe neither of them. I think the truth is in the middle. Arians never take responsibility for anything. It’s always someone else fault but never his. You can be 100% sure that if the Bucs get eliminated in the playoffs in an embarrassing way Arians will say in the post game presser that Brady was calling the shot all season and he had nothing to do with it.

it’s a classic case of he said, she said. If your a criminal but get set up by a cop, you have 0 chance in court because everyone believes the cop.

he blamed Brady after every loss last year anyone who believes that dude is a clown

Edelman is done unfortunately.
Is he really done done or is his injury the type that can heal a year or two later?

Bucs better not lose in the wildcard round or else they'll be lots of finger pointing all around. You can bet Arians will be pointing it at Brady.

Even if he does not win MVP, man has Brady shown that Bill was a clown for giving up on him. Look a these past 2 seasons with 40 TDs each and the wins and comebacks and the SB. I agree with Pats1960 that Bill moving off from Brady is by far the worst sports move in Boston sports history.

Sports history.. would be like the bulls telling jordan to hit the road in 1996

Ruth played while 24, in Boston. He was then sold to the Yankees. He went on to play 15 seasons for the Yankees. I love Brady, but Ruth is the clear answer on this.

Weird that some are blaming Arians on this. I hope they work it out, but this seems utterly ridiculous to blame the coach considering their histories.

Has Arians ever dealt before with player injuries? Pretty sure he’s seen it all. Doubt he just so happened to turn into a Disney villain this one time to force a player to play through a horrible injury. And the idea that AB shouldn’t have played to begin with? Taking that with a giant grain of salt…anyone remember the shovel pass fest in last year’s finale to reach contract incentives?

Now on the other hand, let’s look at AB. Forced his way out of Pittsburgh for multiple reasons. Sulked about not getting the ball enough, got jealous of JuJu, went after Ben, whined about respect, wanted more money, recorded Tomlin on Facebook Live, lots of off field issues, claimed everyone was out to get him. Then he went to the Raiders and had one of the most infamous meltdowns in league history, assaulting coaches, etc. Claimed everyone is out to get him. Goes to New England and lasts a week…and though I don’t think Kraft should have cut him (it was really stupid), it’s not like he did nothing wrong either.

So now, how is AB getting the benefit of the doubt here? My suspicion is, if anything, he’s been a much bigger ******* for quite some time now and incidents like this don’t just randomly happen. Players and coaches/trainers butt heads about injures all the time. But no else storms off the field like that.

Again, I don’t care that AB’s a jackass if he can play and help Brady win. I hope they can mend the issues and have him in the lineup…but there’s no goddamn way I’m believing a word he says over Arians or surmising Arians has treated him unfairly, per NFL standards. That’s delusional.

Also, not sure where the “moron playing checkers” perception comes from with Arians. But I’d suggest reading this SI article from 2015. Last year the issue was that he’s basically too intellectual and was overcomplicating the offense before realizing his complex schemes were causing problems, especially for Brady coming into this with a new terminology and no training camp.

Arians looks like an idiot, and he often talks like an idiot, but he’s definitely not an idiot, though some head coaches are.

Please stop using 2 day old Ian Rapaport spins straight from ABs agent as an explanation for what happened thanks in advance.

Long story short he's saying he couldn't go cause of injury
