OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Also if this is true about his foot being this screwed up then he was gonna be useless in the playoffs so whatever no big loss.

Also, not sure where the “moron playing checkers” perception comes from with Arians. But I’d suggest reading this SI article from 2015. Last year the issue was that he’s basically too intellectual and was overcomplicating the offense before realizing his complex schemes were causing problems, especially for Brady coming into this with a new terminology and no training camp.

Arians looks like an idiot, and he often talks like an idiot, but he’s definitely not an idiot, though some head coaches are.

Without question, Arians once was was an excellent coach. But something happened to him between the Cardinals and Bucs. Brady's arrival last year and a very strong/healthy lineup went a long way toward mitigating his troubling tendency toward questionable (primarily in-game) decision making. Problems along those lines seem more pronounced this year, possibly exacerbated by injury woes and assistants becoming more prominent. Once again, Brady has compensated for much of it.

From two years ago before Tom rode to the rescue:

Another angle on the AB situation a la "live by the sword, die by the sword."

Agree. He seems terrible in press conferences and says too much. And inadvertently rubs players the wrong way. But he turned 3 different franchises around before, I think.

Should be easy enough to verify most of that with game day cameras. If Arians did the cut throat symbol and it can be confirmed they injected his ankle and then told him to go back in.....

Watching the schemes of this team compared to defenses like NE and offenses like GB or LA is mind boggling. Brady is the MVP simply for how he's required to fit balls into tight windows because they can't scheme anything. With AB gone and the ability to remove Evans and Gronk from between the 20s you'll see what happens unless they can run the ball.

Even the GOAT needs help to succeed -- great weapons (Tampa) or great coaching (New England). Brady's true greatness has been in proving he can make do with either being less than ideal.

I believe him

I believe him about the injury because it’s no secret. Arians commented throughout the season that it isn’t a normal ankle sprain. I don’t believe “AB” (the attorney who wrote that) about the Bucs doing anything outside the norm when it comes to injury management. AB shouldn’t have played in last year’s Super Bowl due to knee cartilage that later required cleanup surgery. Brady shouldn’t have played on a torn MCL. Mahomes shouldn’t have played with turf toe. You can go down the list of so many players who shouldn’t be playing since their recovery isn’t complete or they need surgery. But unless a player is explicit in informing the team that he’s unavailable, then what’s the team supposed to do? AB has been posting rehab videos for a month talking about how he’s working his way back, and we’ve all known he’d probably require surgery after the season since “bone on bone” was reported earlier.

That all may be true but basically what it comes down to is why BA 'cut him' on the sideline. If there is footage just show that he whined about targets and then BA can simply say that he was asking him to get back in the game because he assumed he was pouting about that. If the sideline footage shows what he is claiming then that's another thing.

...we’ll see what happens unless they can run the ball? We know what’ll happen. Brady will pass for 350 yards and put his team in a position to win like always.

Arians is a dumbass like you know how AB is why do **** like that you’re already down Godwin

Arians is a dumbass like you know how AB is why do **** like that you’re already down Godwin

Why do you believe the least trustworthy person in the NFL? Did you read the Wells report and demand Brady be kicked out of the league as well?

Imagine how mad Rodgers will be if he doesn't get the MVP. He already called a writer a bum for the writer saying he wouldn't vote for him cause he's a jersey. Lmao he cares a lot for this award while Tom just wants that ring

So what you believe is that despite the 25 injured players this team has had all year, suddenly they make one play hurt enough to where he cant play. I have seen Gronk begging Arians to come back to the game and he would not let him, but now, he does it to brown? I mean it couldnt be that he was pissed that they were losing and he was not getting the ball enough so he threw a fit, and the coach told him to leave and he lost his ****, no way, not Brown. No he didnt fake a vaxx card and get suspended 3 games, no he didnt get kicked off storied franchises like the steelers and the patriots, no he never had anything controversial nor has he lied or anything like that....nope, the story is, they all held him down shot toradol into him over and over and then forced him to play despite not doing that with any other player on the team. Yep thats the story.

As we saw, after Brown left, brady used guys like grayson, and other backups to have a 14 point comeback and game winning td to one of them. Yep,. no way they could do without Brown they had to do something they didnt do with much more important players all year. I mean shouldnt Godwin be playing? Shouldnt they have forced him? No? Oh thats different, because you know its not like the player has a choice or not. Not like they dont have 50 trainers that tell the coach if a player can go or not. nah thats not it, the most untrustworthy man and his agent said different so that has to be the case.

the fact that he's so upset about this just shows his #1 priority is regular season stat/award supremacy. his top goal is probably to get 5 or 6 regular season MVP's

Well I guess this is the best case scenario that Brown is going to have surgery so that pretty much solves that. He wasn't going to be much use to the bucs anyways with the ankle and he's not going to play with anybody else this year.

Now Licht can begin researching replacements as I think most of us knew after the vaccination fiasco that brown will not be back next year anyways. What is great is they basically paid him pennies on the dollar and got a super bowl out of him.
