Although McNabb is no longer elite or even near the top of the second tier (he was 17th in passing yards and 13th in TDs last season), I think it is a good trade for the Redskins. I think the Eagles got value in a trade considering McNabb's age, injury history, and less than elite production although it now looks like they are rebuilding when it looked like they were a team that had a decent shot to fill in a few holes and be an NFC Champion contender or Super Bowl contender.
I just don't get all the turnover by Philly this offseason. Between the trades and free agent defections, they are going to be a very different team next year. It looks as if they lost the Peppers sweepstakes and decided that that was enough to make sweeping changes.
I haven't kept up with much of the offseason moves(other than the Yahoo front page staring me in the face), but Kevin Kolb is going to be very, very good. Unlike McNabb early in his career, Kolb will have some TOP NOTCH YOUNG receivers to work with(Jackson, Maclin, Avant, and Celek), and it seems like Reid runs the ball MORE if the other QBs are NOT McNabb. Look for bigger doses of McCoy and Weaver next year - unlike those last 2 games against Dallas when Reid lost his mind.
Also - every year in Philly under Reid, it's always doom-and-gloom going into their respective seasons, but they always rise above the occassion. I think Dallas will take a step back(they were lucky to be injury free last year, ain't gonna happen this year, and they're getting older, especially that OL), I don't see the Redskins getting any better as long as Snyder's overseeing them, and the Giants run has come to an end.
