OT: Favre sending naked crotch shots to female coworkers

Ok, let's talk about this. I only have perspective on this as a dude, so that's all I can speak from. In general, a decent guy usually understands that unless it is blatantly obvious things like this are typically the fault of the guy. Most good guys don't like infidelity, haven't done it, and have never had the desire to be unfaithful. Most good guys take accountability for things; that's the way guys are wired. Some guys of lesser moral character publicly judge others for poor decisions. Just because it was a moronic decision on the part of dude who chased after the wrong girl under the wrong circumstances does not mean that there is not plenty of blame for all involved.

Look at it this way: assume that there is a woman executive working for a television company. There is a 24 year old male on-screen talent who is clearly attractive. His past history has made it abundantly clear that he has used his good looks and ability to seduce to further his career. The executive has a family, loves them, but makes a bad decision and allows herself to have a pair of strictly physical encounters with the guy. She gets a little too into the heat of it and texts him a topless picture. A little while later, she leaves the company and pursues another market. The on-screen talent feels a little burned, needs the publicity, and decides to approach a media outlet with the pictures and some dirty voicemails left after a few glasses of wine. Does the guy sound like a bit of a scumbag? Sure does to me.

The truth is that it's none of our goddamned business what happened and we don't know the whole story. To solely blame one person for something that is quite clearly on both parties is morally wrong. To claim to be a moral arbiter is wrong. It's one thing for this to be handled in private, another entirely to publicly humiliate people who did absolutely nothing wrong. Is Favre a moron and pretty clearly a dirtbag? Absolutely. Did this girl humiliate Brett's wife and kids by taking this public? Absolutely. In the grand scheme of things, I think that's everbit as bad as infidelity, that's all.

Every time I think we've turned the corner as a society, some young gun reminds me that some things will never change. You do realize what argument you just made, don't you? Look at how she was dressed, where she was, the situation she put herself into... What was he supposed to think, no meant no? They all say no when they usually still mean yes. This gal and the other two so far...didn't sleep with Brett. They said no for all the right reasons and he harassed them for it and in at least one case sent her pictures of what little she missed... I don't doubt he's scored plenty, and those gals may start coming out of the woodwork too. But this is all on him. No one is seducing the poor old gunslinger. He's not a private citizen, he's a multi-millionaire NFL QB selling wrangler jeans and he's hitting on multiple females in his employers employ and harassing them if they rebuff his advances.

As for his family, he's the one who humiliated them and they deserve to know what they're dealing with. As does the female general public. Altough I doubt Deana is stunned by the revelation. She knew what she bargained for - they were together off and on since college, where she got pregnant, when he wouldn't marry her and he didn't want her trailing him to GB to ruin his good old boy times and he didn't want to be a father to their first daughter. He didn't marry her until he was bottoming out on drugs and alcohol and he needed a lifeline because the league was getting ready to boot him. Why do you think she sends him back to the NFL year after year...by August he's miserable because the only thing he's ever really loved is being that gunslinging QB singing pants on the ground :singing:. He's spent his whole entire life doing whatever he damn pleases surrounded by a contingent of enablers. She's one of them. Just like Bus and Mooch and all the rest of his ardent admirers. I feel bad for his daughters, but that predates this.

I still ask ...

If Favre really wanted this woman ...

Why did he include the penis shot ... no way she got wet looking at it.

A romance in New York City... it all started so innocently enough.

Brett: "Hey cutie pie... wanna see my helmet?"

:bricks:

This girl's responsibility is NOT to Favre's family. That's on Favre, since he's the one who married his wife and made the promises. For all we know, he gave Sterger the "We have an open marriage" line. If this girl felt harassed by Favre, she should just keep quiet in case she humiliates his family? I don't think so.

Perhaps Brett and scum like him should think about the possible implications before getting involved in something like this. Like how it would hurt his wife, image and checkbook. But they never do.

Mo Lewis Rocks said it all and said it right.

This is the result of Favre's bad judgment and apparently permanent adolescence.

I would remind all of you that Odysseus had the good judgment to stuff his ears with wax when his boat passed Circe's lair. Brett Favre did not.

And it's going to cost him--not necessarily suspended games, although that's possible. It's going to cost him the respect of his fans, especially the little ones, and the harmony, if any, in his family. And it's going to follow him forever, just as Rothlisbergers's "indiscretions" will follow him and Vick's will follow him. (and I'm not saying they're equal).

You think of the fabulous game he had when his father died, and how impressed we all were with him that night. You think of his wife's cancer, and the sympathy that elicited. But all this act elicits is contempt.

Maybe he is a stupid moron, never had the impression that he was a rocket scientist, or maybe he thought the junk pic was going to Madden?

ESPN: Brett Favre investigation by NFL on fast track, source says (10/10)

The investigation is on a fast track and commenced Thursday.

Sterger is cooperating with the investigation and a source said that NFL security officials will meet with Favre if she confirms and/or provides evidence that the allegations have merit.

Once the NFL completes its investigation, the source said any disciplinary action warranted under the personal conduct policy -- including suspension -- will occur "as soon as possible." Favre has not denied the allegations since the report.

Well, seems it all depends on what Sterger says now. You can't say the NFL isn't taking this seriously because this shows to me that they indeed are.

Now if "Jets" Goodell announces a one game suspension tomorrow morning, effective immediately, how bad does that look?

ETA:

NFL officials are all over Jenn Sterger.

Err, I mean, they're on top of the situation.

Well, Goodell has told Sterger everyone in the NFL offices is going to get behind her during this difficult time.

Jetdell wouldnt want to do that. He wants the ratings for MNF to be awesome with Moss and Farvequad against Sancheeeze and the JEST.

I so hope he's found guilty of this and gets punished. I hate Favre, he's a selfish prick and I'd love to see him go down in flames.

I doubt this because lord farvequad is going to be protected by Jetdell.

are you sure you live in New Jersey?

I could swear you think just like my good friend and next door neighbor here in Little Rhody

Nope, I live in Mass, 20 minutes from Foxboro.

my mistake....:ugh:

Tell that to the Duke Lacrosse team, or anyone else whose been falsly accused of rape.

No, I don't think I will. Even if they had committed rape, there would have been plenty of people lining up to say the "skank" deserved it. Perhaps hiding in anonymity on the Internet.

We have so many charming phrases for these temptresses....skank, slut, whore, etc. What do we call the man who sleeps around? "Man-whore"? That's about it, unless you want to count the admiring terms, like "stud".

It's amazing how Favre has destroyed his reputation in like four years. The guy was a god who other than his pill addition was the face of the NFL. Everyone loved him and his good-ole boy attitude and his indestructability. The nation mourned his father's death and was there with him with his wife's breast cancer.

Something happened in 2006 and his premaddona ways became public. He blasted Ted Thompson for not hiring his friend Steve Mariucci. Then the next year blasted him again for not getting Randy Moss. And then came the yearly retirement/unretirement tango. We got word that Favre would have his own private dressing rooms and other diva-like perks. Every team that loses him has players talk about how happy they are to see him gone. And now the sexual harrassment issue and word that he hit on multiple women.

I guess if Favre was concerned about his legacy, he should have retired four years ago. He will forever be remember now as a diva who hold teams hostage. Guys like Peter King will continue to stand behind the guy with his schoolgirl crush on Favre, but most people have washed their hands of the guy. I am sure Vikes fans will hate him by the time he goes too.

Middle America LOVES Favre, cellphone pics or not.
