That's because the Pats play a bunch of single high safety. McCourty is way, way too far back in the field to be a regular in run support. And that's fine because having the range that he has back there allows Chung to play much closer to the LOS. I'd argue that McCourty's main contribution in the run game is enabling Chung to make the plays he makes.

I wouldn't say McCourty's strong in run support, but I wouldn't say it's a weakness, either. He's a technically sound tackler.

You do not have to try to explain defensive schemes, and coverage duties to me me. I FULLY understand! This has nothing to do with my assessment of his play. Even in watching All 22 film during the season last year for gambling purposes. I would see him make many more bad reads on the where the ball was going in comparison to the 2014 season. And they you just have plays where he makes horrible mistakes like that OBJ/Butler play last year, and how he horribly got Juked on that Langford run.

Im not saying he's horrible, bad, or anything along the lines of that. I just don't feel he's improving in any parts of his game like you would want out of a player you just locked up long term. I watch all the games every season in All 22. Im just seeing it with my own eyes.

Cyrus Jones! There we go!

Was against Hoyer though... Still made a good play.

Nice play, Cyrus!!

alright i wanted to see more of jimmy near the goal line there. roll out, play action something.

give him some film to study. good grief.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see some Garoppolo naked bootlegs in the regular season or other types of designed rollouts that leave the option to run open. Could be that they're just reluctant to use that stuff in the regular season because a) they should only need it for 4 games, so not giving up any game film on it could help swing a game, and b) they don't want to expose Jimmy to injury.

Basically, designed plays for Jimmy near the goal line could well be the kind of thing that they extensively try in practice, but want to keep under wraps and under control for now.

Lol too easy. Cyrus got skills/instincts

Damn. Cyrus. Sweet move.

We LOVE Hoyer Right Guys! RIGHT!!!

That was a great read by Cyrus.

James White turns chic salad out of chic **** on a reg basis

Marqui said James White was unathletic and slow

Pass would have been nice. Can't complain about playcalling right now tho, the staff is working on what they want to work on. I think those last runs were to the right side as well? No way we aren't running left when the score matters

Absolutely agree. This is very evaluation. All about fundamentals. I'm not that concerned.

James White broke a tackle!

Derby needs to catch that...blanketed and underthrown, but should be caught.

Awww Derby dropped that TD. Nice moves in space by Jimmy Sweet Feet White
